Premium MemberDaydreams remembering summer

on a sizzling august afternoon
the glitter on the water scintillates
tapdancing on a hot griddle
till a cool breeze reaches the shore
and loosely sways the braids
of an old weeping willow
as if to a sweet nostalgic rhythm

Now and then

Peering back through misted glass.
You.
An intimately known stranger next to me.
Echo waves lap in and out of my mind...
Reality? Looped events pulsating.
Can't trust the cine film past.
Click. Thud. Tapdancing on my heart.
Staccato feelings.
Drop by drop I return to myself.
Phoenix.

Premium MemberGo Dancing

When His wind excites the leaves
Light and shadow go dancing
When His wind on water weaves
Light flicks around - tapdancing

His wind dried up the Red Sea
To silence Pharaoh's hot air
Israel crossed over free
Their song - instead of despair

He breathed life into a child
Who danced before Him as king
The Davidic king compiled
Worship songs - for us to sing

His wind-driven chaff is wild
He scatters His enemies
His rebuke returns it - mild
His wind provides remedies

Breathe on me, Holy Spirit
For I must be born again
The singing - I can hear it
I am dancing from within

Premium MemberDancing Politicians

Politicians seem to have an inborn propensity for inane chatter.
They'll WALTZ through a media event leaving many things unsaid,
And TWIST the truth 'til you're left with useless JIVE REELing in your head!
They are renowned for TAPDANCING around most any subject matter!

They'll SASHAY and do a TWOSTEP to obfuscate and to evade.
Politicos make asinine promises from CHARLESTON to Seattle,
And CHOREOGRAPH their DO-SI-DO with folks spewing their idle prattle!
They'll DANCE SWIRLing PIROUETTES never calling a spade a spade!

Some have GYRATED 'round the requirement to pay taxes for years!
Then RAVE, "Gee, my staff should've taken care of that" when the JIG is up!
Those scoundrels are all alike, drinking from the same old loving cup.
How they love to do the BUNNY HOP cozying up with their beloved peers!
