Premium MemberTable Manners

I don’t know about you but I think it right
That kids should eat at the table, most every night.
Sit down with mum, sit down with dad
For these are the best memories you’ll ever have.

There will come a time and it creeps up fast,
When past days are gone, for they never last
When you will wish those days were back
When there is something in your life, you will forever lack.

It had been tradition, it had always been
But today at mealtimes children are never seen
They sit with their takeaways on their lap
Whilst the video games will, their attention sap!

And these days parents are forced to compete
With mobiles phones as their offspring tweet
For conversation at mealtimes may well be lost
And the lack of table manners will be the cost!!

So Help Me God

Religion has too many givens,
the takeaways few, far between

Questioning ravaged, intelligence savaged
—the mind left to wander and dream

Am I the Only One

Am I the only One who sees the need elsewhere,
Who objects to TV's in the takeaway shop here,
The hospital waiting room over there,
And one in the adjoining corridor, just to be sure.
Huge ones at too many sports venues in case we missed the four.

They don't tell the patients that cost of putting them there,
Could pay for a Nurse for a year,
Or the reason your takeaways take so long to appear.
Is that TV is more important than adequate kitchen gear,
The large ones prohibit free sports gear,
And keeps families out of there.

You can put a TV in your car,
And I see no need to care,
Or watch the one behind your bathroom door,
I still won't care,
But when my medicine is too dear,
And the standard of care,
Is beyond unfair,
Even though I pay my taxes every year
Then I take umbrage here,
And hope an ulcer will not appear.

Premium MemberSerendipity Suspended

So long
I'm
Gone
No more
Occasions,
Forsaken
Takeaways
Hidden,
Ensuring
Touch finger fail,
Intimacy scorned
Maligned,
Engagement called off
Serendipity suspended.

Relic of a raucous night's revel
In an empty shop doorway
Stands a solitary cider bottle sentinel

Bundles of bedding. Beneath
Huddles a barely visible body
Whom I have to skirt around

Shop windows blacked out and blinded
With nothing to offer but silence
No clink of cash registers here

Sprouting up in this desert
The cacti of fast food outlets and poundshops
Cheap takeaways and cheap goods at throwaway prices

Buskers booming out their ballads
Their desperate music fills the air
Echoing the city's despair

The reek of commercial cancer does abound
A city hub, soon to be the dead centre
With the tumbleweed of litter blowing all around

B3-Poem 1 When the Time Is Right We Will Be Together

POEM 1 WHEN THE TIME IS RIGHT WE WILL BE TOGETHER

WHEN THE TIME IS RIGHT

WE WILL BE TOGETHER

I BELIEVE THAT WHEN THE TIME

IS RIGHT FOR US TO BE TOGETHER

NOTHING OR ON ONE WILL KEEP US APART.

YOU ARE CONSTANTLY WITH ME

IN MY DREAMS

IN MY PLANS

IN MY EVERYTHING I DO

MOST OF ALL YOUR IN MY HEART

FOREVER AND THAT IS SOMETHING

THAT NO DISTANCE NO MATTER HOW

FAR CAN EVER TAKEAWAYS

Nights Out

Disco dreams and disco balls
Big city,bright lights
Pub crawls and bar fights.
Mini frocks and hair dyes
Made up faces
Mascara filled eyes.
Vodka martinis and champagne
Bus trips and black cabs
Standing in the rain.
Nightclubs and deejays
Entry stamps on wrists
And tattooed fists.
Late nights and hangovers
Fast cars and kebabs
White wine spritzers
And mishaps.
One night stands and live bands
Autographs and queues
Sing-a-longs and sad songs
And over packed loos.
One line gags and handbags
Glitter and sparkling eyes
Cigarettes and suffragettes
Gossip and lies.
Brawls,another one falls
Drunks and punks
Frilly skirts and love hurts
And late rides.
Secret kisses and front row seats
Cinema aisles
Red lipped smiles
Beauties and beasts.
Flashy cars and night time stars
Takeaways and glad rags
Silly jokes and whiskey cokes
Dreams and high hopes.
Nights out and walkabouts
Cheap thrills and teenage wonder
Hitch hikes and motorbikes
Delinquent lightning and thunder.
