The whistling kettle calls to me.
Telling me it's time for tea
I grab my Tinkerbell mug off the shelf
As I try to decide what to have for myself
What flavor of brew should I steep into my cup?
Lemony and citrusy?
Minty and refreshing?
Earthy and nutty?
Fruity and floral?
Settling with vanilla spice,
A steamy waterfall
A hint of honey
To sweeten the pot
The sweet aroma rose up
Smelling sugary and sweet.
Cupping the potion
Raising it to my lips
Taking small sips
I felt the warmth
Course through my veins.
Washing away the stress
Replacing it with bliss
Like my mind is at a spa
Bathing in a hot spring.
For a moment, time froze.
The world stands still.
Embracing the peace
Brought by a cup of tea.
Growing up, I was 'muy macho'
(from eating Cheerios, instead of Nachos)
My younger sister thought she was faster than me
Well, I'd show her -- Ha, ha; he hee
We raced across two front lawns into an empty lot
We bet five dollars on the race to sweeten the pot
I took off like a rabbit, I wanted that five dollars bad
At the empty lot, I looked back to see what chance sis had
She'd given up, the money was mine
At which time ---
I ran into a rockpile, turned my ankle, started to cry
Pictured my friends' laughter: You're faster than your sister
~ you 'muy macho' guy
I hit a royal flush when i met you
you turn my puppy toes blue
my hearts are red
you are my ace high
i am all in for you
preflop raise i think you will be here always
sweeten the pot because you are the sweetest
my royal flush i am a lucky man
with your love i always win
