A thirst for walking shoes tightens ankle bones –
it would be sure enough a miracle
if for at least one morning
I could parachute out of my own inner attic
to make a soft landing into
lighter than air sneakers.
Alas this world is overrun with footnotes,
warnings that we are not to take anything at all
for granted.
Amazing how some days
allot me just enough time
to recall, that I am not yet,
or may never be,
Bonafide.
The spiritual path is rocky and narrow,
agile mountain goats get ahead of us,
as we slog behind
picking up their leavings,
each dropping a footnote an*
that the race we have been losing for years
may be already over.
If (by any chance),
I have any wisdom left to me,
I would vehemently caution all:
for God’s sake
to always read the small print -

They say the devil has power
They say that God loves blood
Each moment sweet or sour
Bids us to yield to God.
One pool in which we thrive or stray
One pool of invisible wealth
It behooves us to seek and obey
To buffer the better of us instead.
I see red, white, and blue in light of
Islands of blood, hope, or serenity; and
Pure pick of choice the Source does offer
We know who holds us strong.
Day dawned and found me hoping
They'd savor slice of peace like sweet peach
I prayed the devil was betrayed and fleeing
And sure enough, a miracle within our reach.

Apply sure craft with passion bold,
Mind knows the feel of heart that seeds;
Urge mellows draft as thought unfolds,
Sense a firm will that sculpts wise creed:
Echo a voice that fashions poise.
Glimpses of wit now splurge fond say,
Reach for fine choice to purge mad noise;
Align deep fit as words fund pay,
Nurture deep stuff beyond mere things,
Dance finesse clear that strange and true.
Meet sure enough a joy that spring,
Use feelings dear for sparkling cues;
Sound spreads swift stay upon these shores,
Expect verse play to frame much more.

The Running Chestnut sure-enough a good day for fishing slapping bait on stick could be ugly switching to another could be nauseating but what I was really saying is hid snugly on hook the interesting bit my not come to some watching I did not get it the lure floated right over head maybe I'll use a deeper sinker next time change a few lines reeling a better rhyme fish are slow again maybe a buzz bait with a sharper barb for maximum giggle to move on from the catching phrase
