Premium MemberThe Clause

Catalyst that gold doubloom;
Careful, with a clause conquered;
I rebuild what I consume;
I came, I clawed, I conjured;
Savage and soft specks subsume,
potent potion passed and poured;
Dare to cross and drown in doom.

Premium MemberDusk

Lightly, almost imperceptibly,
dusk quiets and stills the day.

The brightness and youth
of morning vibrates with
exciting expectations
of unknown adventures
waiting to be discovered,
a reaching-out for the new,
the yet-to-be understood,
surpassing the mind’s compass,
the boundaries and limits
of comprehension and imposition.

Time passes, a transmutation
occurs, barely noticed.
The heat of the mid-day sun
exposes newly-discovered
experiences and passions
that subsume all days
with the present, the now,
nothing more, nothing less,
in a momentary phase,
narcissism, an island in the sun.

In time, the sun loses its heat.
We breathe air cooled with a stir
of late afternoon breeze that
tempers passions and desires
and leads to a calmness of mind
with faint birdsong, the music
of rustling leaves and grasses,
and a contentment born of
experience, age, and wisdom
and the beauty of the evening.

In the end dusk slips over the day
lightly, almost imperceptibly.

Always subsume

Their opposite..

It's the prevailing

'If opportunity doesn't knock, build a door'
                      Milton Berle

Outstretched clever Macadamia tree
Bears talents of both Mama and Papa
Fruit materialised due to insect interlopers
Dangled able honey hundred raceme

Languished beneath its branched limbs
Belonging to this land and each other
Our dream developed entity envelopes
Steadily relishing everything which comes

Impediments proffered excuses to resist
To remain staid, refrain from addendum

Instead choosing skyline over stagnation
Sacrifices made to subsume wider merits
Beholding splendour of shade waved bracts
Combined courage brought bountiful outcome

Prospect extends with each Summer harvest
Macadamia Mama Papa caretaker provides
Canopy which oversees posterity of centuries
Husk crack reveals creamiest tongue rolled gems

Tear-Falling Stab

laze upon long stinging
persist the tear-falling stab
can't subsume a choice for yourself

It's a watching pleasure
and my breathing survival
to mark your sucking endurance

The Weed of Our Land

Long after our political matric
Green meant for Agric to make us thick
Become green for vices that make us weak
We are on the weed of our land

Britmen sow the seed of this weed
We choose to light them to life
In attempt to high our livelihood with greed
We lost and now we thrive

Madness everywhere
A norm of this wrecked badland
Need no spyglasses to view it clear
We are on the weed of our land

Failure to nurture our culture fast,
Disregarding the sweat of our Heroes past,
And their nation building incantations
Make us subsume abominations.

Woe

Woe betide he!
Condemned from the very beginning to ultimate destruction
Preoccupied with recruiting souls with reckless abandon
With a mandate to wreck havoc on mankind before his time is done
The hour of reckoning for the mastermind of all evil at Armageddon shall come
For in hell eternally shall he burn

Woe unto thee!
Agents of the prince of darkness
Shedding innocent blood and leaving in its wake the fatherless and motherless
Destroying destinies of countless
Alas! Judgment shall come in its uprightness
For the verdict shall be an everlasting sentence to the abyss of hopelessness

Woe is me!
From a state of nothingness, born into an awareness of mankind’s fall
Caught in the crossfire between two warring factions, of which there’s no sitting on the wall
To the light I must navigate, there’s no other favourable call
Lest the darkness subsume me and I be a fireball
Time will tell how my life’s mission will progress or stall
For after death, I shall awake to eternally know it all

Mind's Furnished Rooms

In mind's castle many furnished rooms
In upper chamber, chaste virtue grooms
In lower chamber, strands of civility bloom
In antechamber, auxiliary dreams, visions illume
In the inner chamber, fears, insecurities subsume
In dim, adjoining corridors, venal guile do entomb
From bed chamber, hypothalamus, carnal libations spoon
In library, Prefrontal cortex, sentient patterns resume
In nursery, hippocampus, Id suckles the womb
In hearth's cozy fireplace, nurtured Ego swoons
From dusky, dank cellar, hidden desires fume
In dungeon's dark recesses resides a foreboding gloom
In courtyard, amygdala, aesthetic designs mushroom

Emperor Within

Existence bubbles no commentary just drumming the solos reached wings eclipsed no trouble
just buzzing spectral light ignited a darting red/ then blue tunes subsume there's no
policy just humming, that's when green seeds are forthcoming

Man stands in the middle stuck stuck flopped in a rut with some luck he may embrace the
shore melting. But training is such he's got a metal pin/no bulletin, he's got pointy
barbs and churchy scars. A feeling of doubt resides within, hustling with muscle to escape
within-wherever you go, there you are whippin dark clouds. Anger is the spine of poetry.
Unhypnotise, release the flies, there's always an emperor within

Dark Victory

Dark Victory

A free spirit
Who never took orders
Young and strong
Nothing could touch you

Reckless
Volatile
Defiant
Dangerous

Until you found love
And a courage
You didn’t dream
You possessed

This was the role you said
Was a reflection
Of your own life

A life that blazed in those
Famous, song-worthy
Eyes

In the end
Your vision grew dim
As your illness
Put out the light of life

But it could not subsume

Bravery
Dignity
Quiet composure
Selflessness

Or love

That was your victory over the dark
As you faced eternity
Unafraid

You drifted off alone
With eyes seeing
What we cannot

At least, not yet

Blue
mist
upon
a blue day-
will the sun break through
the sadness I feel
within me,
and lift
this
gloom ?
wait..
work,
subsume
my being
in activity-
a light awakens
positive
outlooks
in
me
