A short stout figure in the forward line of attack,
controlled with skill the darting ball on the green turf.
With the magnetic pair of magical legs like a wizard,
spearheaded the attacking formation across the field.

The opponent defenders had to invent new strategies
to foil his rhythmic moves with the ball toward goalpost,
he could make lyrical way outwitting all their attempts
to see the ball like lightning hit the net behind the bars.

The shining star of his country’s illustrious football team,
he led from the front to win many major tournaments.
A legend in his life time, he was the pride of Argentina,
the creator of poetry in motion, he was Maradona.

Premium MemberA Legend of Football

A short stout figure in the forward line of attack,
dribbled with the darting ball on the green turf.
With the magnetic pair of fleeting legs like a wizard,
spearheaded the formidable formation of the team.

The opponent defenders had to invent new strategy
to thwart your crafty moves leading to the goalpost,
but you could make your way foiling all their attempts
to see the ball flash and hit the net behind the bars.

You were the backbone of your country’s team of fame,
that you led to winning many prestigious tournaments.
A legend in life time, you were the pride of Argentina,
in the history of football you’ll live forever, Maradona.

Premium MemberSetting Them Free

To become a better human being my philosophy
Spearheaded by my father from when I was young
Who believed in giving back to society.
A Doctor by profession who spent his Sunday in
running a free clinic to heal the sick.
I helped him stick labels and markers on his
mixture bottles and grind the tablets for free.
My perception in life is even though a mere human
being
I can change a few lives, my father taught me
The underprivileged who need
free education and humanity .

Afraid to lag behind in this race
We forget where we are going and what we run
after.
Often not being satisfied at where we are.
I live by my own making and expectations and
never by the expectation of others.
Another line to cross, I have my final goals cut out
When I look in the mirror I should like what I see
And it brings a smile to my face automatically
Another step closer to help underprivileged
children to read and write I would agree.
For education can make them dream
give them wings and set them free.

Headed For Leadership

compound word verse

There is a worthy cause you see
could start a trend which needs to be
spearheaded.

Deal with arrogance, grand pooh-bah,
don’t act like some maharaja,
bigheaded.

Be stubborn and members you’ll lose.
Teamwork succeeds under one who’s
clearheaded.

What to do with folks who complain,
a leader in angst must remain
coolheaded.

Share the wealth and share applauses
lest you find your worthy cause is
deadheaded.

I used Rhyme Zone and How Many Syllables?
The latter lists both "coolheaded" and "deadheaded" as 4 syllable words. I count them both as having 3 syllables. Have contacted them about these two mistakes and await a reply.??
Have found all of my compound words online at Farlex Free Dictionary.

Aussie Flag O the Convict Spawn

Aussie Flag o the Convict spawn

Under this flag we fought for sure,
 defending Pommy gits and more,
defending of our nation,
in murderous situations,
tween Afghans and the Boer...

we'd run it up the old flagpole,
fluttered there our heart and soul,
the Aussies are on station,
the convict spawn relation,
adventure is our goal,

you step on us we will step on you,
careful how you treat us blue,
right cross to the snotter too,
in a stirry situation,

the Aussies and the Kiwis saw,
that we were cannon fodder for,
pommy overlords of nations,
respect for them no never when,
we spearheaded Tobruk and Alamein,
less pommy casualties to frame,
colonial extermination...

Mouthpiece

We make strides when we speak
No one minds when we prick
Because we belong to the third eye click
The society needs healing
For so long we have been kneeling
We all have to mature
That's the only human's manure
I believe in a being
Not looking up to the ceiling
Words spearheaded internally
While we head to spears externally
Many have eyes but will never see
Many are the ships but few cross the sea
It's our duty
To redeem our beauty
Let us maintain His orders
Do not retain borders

Just a piece
Peace

Makita Xxiii

Sharp and branded was the hunger
Thundering within my paunch
guised as the quintessence
spearheaded by life
‘twas the claw cast
from death’s marred teat
Heard within yonder valleys
Whence I sought freedom

The Last Bastion

In a world decayed by tyrants and greed,
Serving the human for the human mans creed.
Separation and conflict, the terms we now know
Where once The Last Bastion “Hope” used to grow

Defensible positions push further the lines
Where once the Hearth kept us warm through the times
The surety of plenty now fallowed with salt
Our Promised Land lays dormant, brought to a halt

Successor and Succor were once the lands governed
Brought low by obsession, greed is now covered
By laws and amendments they do what they will
Never giving care to the blood that they spill

A spearheaded tactic, to punch through the lies
Conviction and reason, the common ones cries
To once again see a world of solace and care
To take away hatred, and an end to despair

So with this, The Last Bastion “Hope” you can see
The salt lifted from a land that was once diseased
And never more daunted by an endless abyss
With “Hope” Comes “Love” and in the end … is “Bliss”
