The snares of addiction

Ohhhhh, addiction, a cage, A cage that not only ensnares the body but the soul. Ohhhh, addiction, the cankerworm, That gnaws through the roots of success.

"Just one more," it whispers, "This game is nice..." And it lures you deeper, Feeding thoughts of endless indulgence, Urging you to continue that addictive behavior.

Ohhhh, youths, ohhh, children, flee! This thing, or should I say, spirit, Is a storm, a relentless storm, A tempest that will consume your youth, Overtake your destiny if it is not destroyed.

They ask, "How do we destroy it?" Is this a rhetorical question, Or can it actually be answered? That, my dear youths, is left for you to decide, To find the strength within, to break free.

For addiction is a shadow, A shadow that clings to the spirit, Whispering lies, sowing seeds of doubt, But within you lies the power, The power to rise above, to conquer the darkness.

So, stand tall, stand strong, In the face of this storm, For today, you are a warrior, Armed with the knowledge, That tomorrow, you can be free.

Motivated by jealousy
she spitful undermined
my intentions
far to much to
mention: intruding
on my happiness
making it harder for
me to be
the person I wanted to be
as stoic as it seems
I'm lacking happiness
lacking valor rantings
it's more like constant chantings
in a relationship
I'm pushed to the side
interferance with my advances
in awe taking second glances
I couldn't beleive what I
saw

the odd one out
just tagging along
I know the melody
but they won't let
me sing my song
feeling excluded
moping around
sorta like ah
big silly clown
get it back together
and mosey along
fix what broken
right that whats wrong

The Baritone;" We don't need know skoo bee doo de woops, we gonna do ooh-ah ooh we"
scram Mister let me sang with your Songstress, I'll show you it's
sopposse to be!"
"the smell of dance clubs and dancehalls got me reelin"

I'm reelin
and I'm dealing
with a newly felt feeling
make ah melody
make ah melody
aint nothing specail
about what I'm feeling
make ah melody!
ooh-ah ooh:ooh
ooh ooh
ooh!

SNARES OF TOMORROW

There are these lessons I locked away
Buried deep where my soul's shadows play.
Lessons from the childhood tales I was told
On how to be a man, brave and bold.

As a child, I grew up, gay and bold
Son of a village teacher paid in Gold
I had everything a village boy could desire
Love and opportunities to inspire.

Little did I know life demands more
Than love and dreams of kissing the skies
It needs a heart to endure pains
And a body that withstands life's rains.

Now I'm grown, yet still I feel stuck
Were all those candies traps in disguise?
I may have lived a childhood spun from lies
Now trying to escape yesterday's snares.

My Muse

My first love, a lovely girl then in her sixteen,
Floated across the corn fields dancing with breeze,
Wearing a short, flying frock with color of sea-green,
While dropping her gloves to trick her mom — police.
The scene grew in my heart, and I wrote my first piece.

On a gloomy, warm afternoon, I saw through trees
How she was conspiring with bees to cease our love,
To break our love, to beat our hearts, just to please
Her mom, and I saw our love, like a beaten dove,
Fly above, and I wrote the next poem asking how.

Here, she sits beside, having my head on her hips,
Hunting gray hares in a wood that has flying hairs,
And teasing me with tales ... by rounding her lips,
How I scribbled ballads on love in my nightmares.
I should write state-of-the-art piece on such affairs.

Snares

I fell in a trap, that was set for me. along life's path which I did not see.
had my eyes been on Jesus, the one who can guide,
the snare set by satan, I would have spied.

but my eyes were on me and which way I could take,
while focusing on self, I didn't see the snake.

be careful where you look while traveling through,
you may not see the enemy, but he can see you.
