SNARES OF TOMORROW
There are these lessons I locked away
Buried deep where my soul's shadows play.
Lessons from the childhood tales I was told
On how to be a man, brave and bold.
As a child, I grew up, gay and bold
Son of a village teacher paid in Gold
I had everything a village boy could desire
Love and opportunities to inspire.
Little did I know life demands more
Than love and dreams of kissing the skies
It needs a heart to endure pains
And a body that withstands life's rains.
Now I'm grown, yet still I feel stuck
Were all those candies traps in disguise?
I may have lived a childhood spun from lies
Now trying to escape yesterday's snares.
