Feigning Fabulous Fractures

sassy smirk scrunched
spanking salient sucks
smog smithereen scorched
sorting saucy sauce
savvy strengths spent
savaging sumptuous sects

dark dribbles drooled
damping dainty doom
dense dug douche

moaning mist melted
meager mends masticated
merging mushy murky

felon fate features
feigning fabulous fractures.

Smithereen Memories

The red mist descends beyond horizon,
footprints of your visit yesterday linger on.
Nonchalantly the haze still fills up my senses,
reminiscence of your lyric still ornate my soul.

STEADFAST LIGHTHOUSE

Emergence of a lighthouse brick by brick
My grandfathers would flick the switch
Oh how many generations would glow the wick
Whilst sentinel grandmothers wait up and stitch

Oh how taxing the work of day and night
Pulling together with mortar and mortality
The responsibility to keep generations burning bright
A steadfast lighthouse bespeaks of my vitality

One stormy eve with whiplash waves crashing in
Achieves salvation or a smithereen-soaked raft
A creator washes away generational sin
The spirit-keeper of the windswept draft

Candles of two grandfathers that sailed the sky
Without them, oh family, there’d not be you and I

Hope

A wishing star of bright encrust upon the sable night,
Divesting of itself a glorious blue and silvered light,
Reflection on the optic lens, the surface human eye,
Ingestion in the begging brain from out a dreaming sky.
To scatter in the latent cell, some splendid smithereen,
Ignition for the petrol stream of primal dopamine;
And galvanise insurgent nerves to peaks of heady grace,
Transcending of this graven world, ascending into space.
Hope eternal often springs from unexpected real things,
From shards of new technology or sweep of Mother Nature's wings,
From smiles upon the priceless lips of children lost in play,
Hope eternal springs as such, the measure of each day.
