Seeing — Unseeing
the words drift away
far into the current
of what’s left to say
Passing my cortex
and into the void
where blind recognition
awaits to destroy
Familiar or foreign
once stopped in their tracks
new meaning escapes
with no looking back
The Poet’s eyes squinting
as light filters out
transcendence recaptured
ascendance remounts
Through slivering darkness
a vision appears
and mocking the order
old images clear
Those words once discarded
reform juxtaposed
through eyes resurrected
— released from the flow

There it is - a dot in the blue.
There it is - black wings in the sun.
There is - a feathered diving.
Here it comes
look at the parting windward!
Look - a bolt of fright
a flight of lightning
Fish wriggling- slivering rainbow
clawed hook hung in the hanging
spray fly-falling
bird up-risen
wings boating airward
mouse run snake path in the scrub
food - baby food
open red mouths - nesting.
mouse got - too slow
fish gone.
Mouse swallowing
last breath.

I put a pumpkin on my porch outside,
and he had a hideous face;
I prepared the many treats, myself and my cat,
so, with things in order- on the sofa we sat.
The kids so cute a smile I had to hide,
little ones I wished to embrace;
then, as it got darker things got a bit scary,
and with advancing footsteps I became wary.
Grotesque zombies smelled of formaldehyde,
was thinking of a hiding place;
I could not quit as on the door they would just bang,
a pale, red-eyed bloodless Dracula- my name sang.
Each new banging had me quite petrified,
the monsters kept up a brisk pace;
at midnight hissing was heard and in came a snake,
he swayed slivering to me- I woke at daybreak !

There is a small sliver of a piece missing; it is here somewhere
Waiting to be discovered, to be accepted. I search with my angel,
Determined to see what she has in mind for me, my heart leaps.
Effervescent crystal ball seems more mine now, more personal.
A tiny piece of refracted crystal now found, speaks to my heart.
Telling me things I did not know I knew, but I am convinced of accuracy.
Slivering off was a God-thing, this crystal ball needed to be nicked.
I readily forgive the instigator, for he was an accidental soul helper today.
He was unknowingly part of the master plan to enlighten me further.
I put my tiny nicked piece down onto ball's black velvet tablecloth.
She winks at me and blinks twice. Verification to my soul she is alive.
I am confident that now I will have all my questions answered.
How is heaven, Mother? The crystal's aura glows in rainbow colors.
Do you get to see father, Mom? She shuts down hard, turning dull.
Just like my mother used to shut down fast in front of our father.
I am amazed and delighted; the master plan is working well.

Smeared Sign
Snakes’ slivering skins smothered in slimy oil of temptation
Immersed inundated intrigued of intricate ill tempered shine
Go forth and multiply your ferocious frolicking fortune
No - Neverland promiscuous parody peruses the pear’s peril
Or was it a precocious apple appeasing Adam’s adamant appetite
Furnaces’ flames flow from fields of plenty in the desert of doom
The ‘game’ is rigged resembling steel structures stealing resources
Hallowed be thy name Lord Trinity - material riches glory and power
Extract what you must muster maraude marshal the miraculous sword
Time will tell unless the timid clock retreats and hands fall off in the sand
In Nothing we trust but tentacles of terror and in glorious gory greed
Marooned midst the Midas Touch the ‘salubrious’ sign shivers solemnly
Embraces us humans in silence while the oil rigs stutter and spill
Salutary messages spluttered and soiled and the snake wins once more

Cold are the snakes that sliver thru the tall grass
Quietly patiently they wait
Unaware is the prey that walks through its fields
Carelessly open to it’s fate
They meet at the crossroads
surprised is the prey
Then relaxed for the smile the snake gives
They speak for a moment then the prey gives a pet
SNAP! A victim, a climax. the mood lives
Poor little person fights for the rights
To pick itself up from its lows
Others prepare and calculate the moment
For that’s how the story goes
The snake licks its chop, the victim runs away
It didn’t give blood this time
Ho hum says the snake there’s one born everyday
I’ll be waiting for you next time

Electric pulse between
You, you and me
Like the nectar and honey
Waters to the leaves
Encase between mine
Together slivering
Announcing arrival
Stiffening between time
Lightning speaks, only at speeds
Fastened into my, my beginning
Showering rains, melting sands
Rising in me, accompanied by you
You and I, gone by light

Rats rats rats
I’m scared of creepy crawly rats
Thay have beedy eyes and a long slivering tail
And the ones around here are as big as cats.
Rats rats rats
There’s countless millions everywhere
Nesting in your knicker draw
And crawling trough your hair
Rats rats rats
I was staggering home pickled from the pub last night
When I saw the whole ground move like a giant carpet
It gave me such a fright
They can crawl from the sewer into your toilet bowl
And bite you on your bum
So always check you haven’t one.
Rats rats rats
Their dirty and have fleas
They breed and multiply so fast
And they say they spread disease
When I'm in my bed at night
i get under the covers
Holding my pillow tight
Just in case one crawls through the window
What a fright..
Rats rats rats
Their intelligent creatures so they say
I’d never hurt a tame one
Just keep them rats away.

the crazy preacher man
he speaks
to me
I and the crowd
hypnotised
confused
and squinting
his shadow stands
before the sun
his silver words
are slivering
forth from ancient nets
fisher of men
gathering
it may be so
maybe it was
ever so
and so
some say
it may well
ever be
yet know ye this
that nothing new
shall ever stand
against the sun
and speak as He

A chest full of treasures
Diamond, rubies unturned
Slivering sliver
Glistening pearls
Sapphires and emeralds
Sparkling so bright
Ambers and topaz
A beautiful sight.
But none of these treasures
So rare and so bold
I do not covet
Have no wish to hold
For I know that these jewels
Hold no bounty for me
I have treasures immeasurable
God gave me for free.
The treasure of memory
Of people long gone
Who touched my life gently
With the warmth of the sun
Of hearing a baby
Cry for the first time
Heralding their entrance
To this world so sublime
The feeling of sunrays
Bleaching my bones
The coldness of icicles
And soft fallen snow
The sound of the sea
Breaking roughly on shore
The roar of the wind
The light in a storm.
For my fathers my diamond
My mother my pearl
And though I can't see them
I know that their there
My family my treasure
Who without I would fail
My husband my anchor
The wind in my sail.

Forward and directly
Fantastically
From me
Error made in rage
Cage this stage and page
But believe boldly
I equal this sequel
Slanders slivering toung
Will seal to slavery
That woman is dead
So are the rest
Best for pity
Puts lack
Into fact
Whole I am to you all, now.

I came first but you did not write me in history
You made me mute, invisible, estranged
From my own heredity and great memory
With the slivering tongue arranged
Upon my brain. You brought me back, later
Across the wet desert of the Atlantic
From coffle to cotton, without choice in the matter
So I would believe I was a lunatic.
For only lunatics have no sense of place or name
Make roads they cannot walk, make garments
That cannot cover the stereotypes of shame.
I proved genius in better moral arguments
Did not let me take your life for all your cruelty.
Here is one more for your book, from islands
To continents I made them all the same
You left them blood and gold from your hands
Dripping, I followed you with a different name
Look again, who is the immigrant? Who do you fool?
Let me not deny your stealth, this separation
Of the vine from the root, by dividing you rule
But before you set us at variance, a suggestion
What is the DNA of all your wealth, the legacy
Of pirates and slaves? There is no beggar's hand
Here, just agents to recoup with undue courtesy
The treasures stolen from love and native land

Though heavens open in sluice, hitherto
First light trippingly carving out
Slivering wisped skies bewailing
Elevating perception in voiceless misery
Perceiving faith…
A pioneering masterpiece fashioned
Nature’s initial exhibition
Leisurely comes to pass on high
In illuminated celestial vividness
Astonished in allay…
Suspended absolute fleeting swiftly
Virtuous prismatic watercolors
Chorused seraphic pealing
Heralded upon soft zephyrs
Promise acquiescing…
Divine stroked rainbow
