Like I said right before
you came
5 week's would come
and go
One day we would be happily patiently
eagerly awaiting your arrival
And seemingly the very next day
driving you back and waving you
a sad farewell and goodbye
But id rather that as much as it may sting
Better that than having you never have
came at all
And at least you have a loving family
awaiting your arrival on the other side
So thanking you my Sister Joanne from
the piece missing from my heart
For coming in the 1st place as that
was solely down to you
And as a parting gift please I pray you
know this if nothing else beside
You are the middle center ground truly
blessed to be loved on either side of
the equator in equal increasing amounts
both true north and due south
And let me finish by saying merely this
You haven't even barely left no time
has in fact elapsed
But already you are sorely missed
Please do not stress Mother dearest
As i do not want to add to your woes
But the dog has just come in covered
in ticks and fleas
And my sister and I have both knits and
scrapped knees respectively
So many troubles and this won't be the
last to try and comb over or sweep under
the already threadbare underlay or
cardboard box dinning table
Yet just more ammunition and stick's of
rock to be labeled and taunted by other's
with
Exactly just how much of laugh are you
having and enjoying at our expense
I've barely 23 cent's left after i've
settled my rent to patch up the
holes in the front door from the
bailiff's constantly knocking down
my door
But nevermind me what really strings
and breaks my heart are seeing my
children's faces bony and haunt
Like ghost's me do haunt knowing
hug's won't alone keep them warm
when the winter cold night's draw in
But those very kid's despite all of
this and apparently having nothing
are both happy and content at the
same time
Because 1 thing they know for sure
is that there are far worse fates than
being poor
So long as they know Mother loves
them
Just this minute finished
conversing with my sister online
Because i can't visit her or
speak face to face as she still
lives in South Africa where we
moved and grew up as children
Whereas i live back in Liverpool
where i was born
And discovered what i really
trully want 1st and foremost
above anything
My dream would be if i was to
be granted 3 wishes was to win
the lottery or have anything i
wanted
Would be to buy back address
140 Kilburn Street the only
one true house and home
i have ever known
Because if i did i would in
essence be reclaiming my
childhood memories
A house is but bricks and mortar
but a home is built on the memories
and love that resides inside it's wall's
And unfortunately now in my case
i know and can put a price on mine
if i wish to get them back
That and if the family who bought
it and live their now are willing
to sell
Or aren't similarly emotionally
attached to it
As i and my family were
My sister puts 2 tea bags
into 1 cup
Takes 1 out then drinks it
with still 1 in it
To me that is no longer tea
but has become soup and
rather disgusting
But that is how she takes
it and makes her happy
And given the fact i don't
understand and am expected
to drink it
Who am i to judge or tell her
that's not right or tell her she
should take hers like mine
Because although the simplest
thing as expressing one's opinion
at the time if gone unchecked
Can lead down a slippery
slope and empowered into
feeling that that's ok and you
are right
Rather than realising though
you may indeed well be right
Should it not be up to each
individual to make live and stand
by their decision
Otherwise how will they learn
from their own mistakes and
build character traits
To help them when they cannot
call upon you to take the difficult
decisions on their behalf
When once my Kayleigh
And Bianca asked
Uncky Chris why is our sister
Schade treated different better
than us
I had to hide a tear welled and my
eye's glassed
As truthful the honest answer was
She is and was the blue eyed
golden child
And still today my replies both
hurts and stings
Because what is one to supposed
to say put in that situation
And given my beautiful niece's
are not fool's
Otherwise why would they have
felt the need to raise the question
And they do know as do i
My retort and response will
be a lie scrambling to pave over
They will never be treated the
same as the sister they refer
to as she called Princess
Because sadly she is the one
prized and loved most above
of them all
And thought i understand and
accept we all amongst us have
our favorites
Please dear god never make it
So damn patent
Children feel the need to ask
I grew up in the Old South Africa
During the Apartheid era
So i know what it means to be racist
But all i see is faces
And judge people solely on what
comes out of them
White is no more right
Than black is supposed to be wrong
The only thing worthy of hate
Is those who hate for no other reason
Than stupid is as stupid does
Be that any colour
Sister or Brother
I just told my Sister
I Love Her
And it cost me absolutely nothing at all
Apart from my time and cost of the call
Yet left me feeling a Million Dollar's
I only hope she felt the same way 2
You see i only have 1 Sister but sadly
she lives overseas
And i have become rather fond of her
but accustomed to missing her
So giving her a call once in a while
to remind her i miss her and love her
Is the toll and duty we are forced to pay
When you sence they are feeling down
But you are unable to visit them
To the Dove World Outreach Center and Westboro Baptist Church
At the Sunday gospel meeting
Coded words of hate repeating
Welcome in if you're Caucasian
Enter not if black or Asian
Sheeple purple Kool-Aid drinking
For the ones who do their thinking
Giving up their right to question
For a soothing mind possession
You'll take no vino with the host
It might offend the Holy Ghost
So you'll save your Ray-Bans for
The covered drive-thru liquor store
Come sit upon the front row pews
Be born again to hate the Jews
All brother this and sister that
Unless you wear a bishop's hat
You handle snakes and speak in tongues
But you can't even spell in one
You know a single Spanish phrase
And that's "Habla usted ingles?"
You can abuse that Venezuelan
While you worship Sarah Palin
Who can stoke your fiery yearning
For a little Koran burning
You're the lily of the valley
At the LGBT rally
In the spirit charismatic
And the gun on automatic
Time to do some holy rolling
Just outside your place of polling
In each verse and chapter quoting
Clear instructions for your voting
* Title is from The Merchant of Venice - Act 1, Scene 3
just because you see me walking down 'ho boulevard does not mean i'm for sale...
i don't have an advertising sign up inviting you to taste and see
a woman can't walk down the street in broad daylight
dressed in a baggy t-shirt and sweats
rockin' an afro puff on a hot summer day
without being propositioned
in violation of my rights as a woman to be free from sexual harassment
and I’m mad about it
my “NO” to your obnoxious offer is real talk
and you should know the difference between what’s for sale
and what’s not on the auction block
so g’long
an' lef’ muh tuh walk in peace
makes a woman want to carry a concealed weapon
and go blasting
could never walk the hallways
play in the yard
or even pray
without somebody bothering me
pulling on my clothes
or grabbing at me
for some sick reason
the next one is going to get a surprise
so g’long
an' lef’ muh tuh walk in peace
~in honor of the women who have walked ahead of me...
