Rummaging in my attic-
found in a withered white box;
one each for the three of them-
my son's and two daughter's births.
Small treasures, hidden for years
discovered as a surprise-
imprints of their tiny feet
and beaded name bracelets too.
I'm blessed that I found them now-
for many, long years have passed
since I held my sweet newborns-
now with their own families.
Each in their sixtieth year
with stored treasures of their own;
to find again one fine day-
recall their memories too.
Such quick surprises grant us
great joy in reminiscing-
remembering joyous times;
one of life's most precious gifts!

For the chance of days
That numbers your ways
Declined every enemies say
To make grace counts today
As we gather celebrating gay
For the update on breath
That rejected raging death
Dating the day of your birth
To this darling sixtieth
I presume is not just my shibboleth
For the grateful heart
You have got from the start
Checking back those that depart
This Earth, though it isn't been smart
But God's mercy that impart
For the time of loneliness
That promotes God awesomeness
When others left you to clumsiness
Defining your unskillfulness
To playing thy rights to emptiness
For the gates that ajar
Of joys in hearts' scar
Shine brilliantly thy star
That orbits earthly Caspar
To present gift out of his reservoir
Every October 13th is for you
Bringing joy out of every blue.

Happy, happy, happy
Anniversary to Sara,
Prolific poet and supporter of
Poetry at Soup and to her hubbie Tommy.
Years of marriage they have filled with love.
Spiritually gifted and
Inspirational souls are Sara and her spouse.
X's and O's through their years must have been a plenty!
The many years fly by and they remain
In love; how lovely for a couple to sustain
Each other through the good times and the bad.
Tommy and Sara, it appears
Heaven of your home you've made for sixty years!

Bjorn and his battle beast, a large grizzly, were mighty and powerful
As they joined a skirmish a feeling of terror went through their enemy
It was awesome to show off his right hand animal, ever so wonderful
How much more intimidating can a warrior and his sidekick be?
Bjorn and beast whom he affectionately called Wee had arrows today.
It hurt neither of them, they were built tough, always ready to fight.
In his armor and Wee’s back, so they decided to roar, growl and play.
Watching the terrified enemy scream as they ran away in the night.
Wee was watching wearily as one soldier tried to sneak back in.
He showed his teeth, all ragged and yellow, and his gums gray.
Bjorn chased the guy off, and clipped him hard on his chin.
That fellow shrieked like a monkey as he swiftly ran away.
The snow covered mountains had never felt so disturbed or alive.
One battle we are finishing here and now, Bjorn told friend Wee.
This was the sixtieth battle they had won, or maybe even sixty-five.
How much more valiant and loyal could these two soldiers ever be?

Posh bubbly’s chilling
Elegant stemware
Fanciest dishes
The table is set
Two candles are lit
Got your favoured meal
Smells so delicious
You should be home soon
My heart is racing
Like so long ago
Anticipating
Our celebrating
Just like every year
I know you’ll tell me
How you truly wish
You’d met me sooner
Love to hear always
Each perfect detail
That’s when I can see
We are so happy
Truly meant to be
Instead of our tenth
We’d somehow wish to
Ring our sixtieth
Anniversary

Suppose for a moment you live in a land,
Amazed at what happens during summer solstice.
Very strange things begin to occur,
Instantly, there is little darkness,
Night that we are so used to
Gone; what is left is the brilliant colors.
Daylight from dusk to dawn to dusk again,
Alight in all its energy and brightness.
Yes, we are north of the sixtieth parallel;
Land of the midnight sun.
I have been here before and seen things,
Gazed upon the horizon, waiting for darkness to reappear,
Holding on to summer in all its life, love and beauty;
To see it ebb once more as daylight fades to night.

What a fabulous recording and performing career we would see.
He was born in 1948, in Meridian, Mississippi.
Paul was signed to his first contract in 1970.
Several years later, a song made it to the Top 40.
Paul’s best selling composition was “I Go Crazy”.
The follow-up “Sweet Life” also gained popularity.
Two more big hits placed him in the spotlight.
Paul topped the charts with “’65 Love Affair” and “Cool Night”.
All the steps taken in his career seemed right.
In 2008, this singer-songwriter passed away.
It was on April 22, the day after his sixtieth birthday.
Whenever approached for an interview, he respectfully declined.
He said, “In the lyrics of my songs, all the answers you will find”.
I thank wikipedia.org online encyclopedia for the information I obtained to write this poem.

In honor of my sixtieth-fifth
I grew another whisker
My calves are stiff and ache at night
My feet begin to blister
My eyelids sag to hide thin lashes
My face’s color wanes
When time to pee I make mad dashes
And still some drops remain
But, offspring thrive and build strong lives
Producing precious children
Then grandkids visit, giving hugs
The family keeps a-buildin’
So, come on years, I see the path
With happiness I greet
My kitten pats and gently loves
My dog now warms my feet
I’ll finish school someday for sure
And then decide vocation
I’ll bloom where I’m planted ‘cause
Life is my vacation!
