Sixty-Fifth

In honor of my sixtieth-fifth I grew another whisker My calves are stiff and ache at night My feet begin to blister My eyelids sag to hide thin lashes My face’s color wanes When time to pee I make mad dashes And still some drops remain But, offspring thrive and build strong lives Producing precious children Then grandkids visit, giving hugs The family keeps a-buildin’ So, come on years, I see the path With happiness I greet My kitten pats and gently loves My dog now warms my feet I’ll finish school someday for sure And then decide vocation I’ll bloom where I’m planted ‘cause Life is my vacation!
