Broadway's shut down

Cannot sense the time
There's no need to report
And nothing's left to find
For the days are now too short
No one did remain
To see the final act
The author went insane
When his Face book page was hacked

Curtains have come down
No encore has been called
No refunds will be found
Since the ticket sales had stalled
Actresses have cried
They're quickly unemployed
No sympathies supplied
For the careers destroyed

Doors have been boarded
The streets are empty now
Old flyers are hoarded
Though not worth much anymore
History will fade
From this old part of the town
Mem'ries been waylaid
Since Broadway had been shut down

Premium MemberThe Day Cnn Shut Down

If only love happened round the world
That would be a pretty slow news day
Actually CNN would have to shut down
No “JUST IN” bulletins, per se

Weather reports predict nothing but sunshine
Temperatures high in the 80s
People goin' round wearing dirty big grins
Things all coming up daisies

Wake up, wake up, my real good friends
Time to rise and start your day
Don't try watching the morning news
CNN has shut down they say

No point in broadcasting only good news
Boring and humdrum for sure
Imagine watching nothing but jubilation
It would sure bore one to the core

Wake up, wake up, my good friend Jack
Seems you were having too good a time
You had a great big smile on your kisser
If only real life was so sublime

Never Shut Down Your Mind-2

If you turn down the lights in your mind,
everything begins to turn grey,
then it would be a bit difficult to see around
and for the predators, you might be a good prey

Never Shut Down Your Mind -1

If you turn off the lights in your mind
your inner sky blackens,
which breaks interaction between
your inner and outer world
then the worst of the worst happens

I Wish We Had Known, When We Left, That We Were Leaving

When I left the high school for the last time

on Friday, March 13

I thought we’d be closed for a week.

Maybe Two.

I told my students to enjoy the week off.

I didn’t bother saying goodbye to the students

I didn’t have that day.

I left a water bottle in my room.

I left a stack of papers, ungraded.

I left a sweater.

I left homework written on the board.

I miss my students.

I miss even the annoying ones.

I miss the busy halls and filled-up lunchroom.

I miss the hectic joy of graduating seniors.

I wish we knew, when we left, that we were leaving

Because now we’re gone

And the school is a ghost town

But the ghosts have all left.

Shut Down Survivor Kit

All of the province is shutting down.

The negativity is heard all around.

It is hitting hard for small families and business to.

What else could our province do.

Last week over 1,000 had a rally, no mask and stood side by side.

Now the numbers of COVID 19 rise.

I wish there was a plan to help those with no income.

Its hurting so many, from bills not being paid, most of all homeless to some.

We all work hard to be a community at best.

If we have a little extra, we are helping our kin and let them rest.

There needs to be a survivor kit before they shut down.

Making sure all is looked after all around.

The only thing I can do at this time is pray.

Hoping COVID 19 will just go away.

Premium MemberShut Down Button

I dreamt I had a shut down button
That switches off the lights in my brain,
My mind screen went blank, it was sudden,
As if God Himself had cut the main,

I closed my eyes and reached Slumberland,
'cross far aways and once upons hurled
Wow! That was quicker than a quicksand,
Dreams and wishes of a sleeping world,

How good it would be if I could close
My nimble mind to all its dull thoughts!
Then easily I could go to doze,
Without tying up my mind in knots.

A Twist In the Tale

No tap water, no electricity
Shut downs, lock downs -the citizens protest
Their crime - possible duplicity
The new (dis) order they must not contest

Sweaty odors fill the air
Policemen arrest you without a mask
Demolition squads in slums seem so unfair
At the wrong time , wrong place you will be taken to task

Schools shut but we learn our lesson well
Trust not in man made systems; they will fail
Focus on the written word to tell
No straight lines; there’s always a twist in the tale

A Midwestern small town
  Her lone tavern shut down

The Motel 6 boarded up too
We'll keep the light off for you

Shut Down

Please don't shut down on me.
I need you to open up and tell me the problem
Then I can help you.
I know it's hard to open up.
But try.
It will help.
Afterwards you will feel better.
Life will be clearer.
But if you keep of shutting down, you will be isolated.
You don't have to be.
For I am here.
So open up to me.

Premium MemberUniverse Shut Down-

In the darkness thrives
Our inner most lives
But chances robs flies
Like winged tigerskarks

In the light swings chandeliers
Clinging dragons Shangri-La
Story pictures of passion fears
Purpose-driven ceiling fans Mardi Gras

Darkness. dies
Light cries
No more passion rights
Dragon fly tiger shark drones
Universe shutdown
Good night

Shut Down

I don't care about you
Obviously, I know how you really feel about me
That is clear
Understand this
I know what I need to do here

Don't need to be another target of envy
and jealousy
Honestly, I'm hurt deeply
How I really felt about you has changed
Ugh please stay away from me
I don't even feel the same

Putting my guard up
Example of why I gave up on love
Enough is enough
Keep your personal issues to yourself
Don't ever speak to me again
Only one person understand me
I have just one friend
Jesus
He is someone I talk to every day
I can trust him
He is safe

Premium MemberI Shut Down and Die Each Night

I shut down and die each night.
I do not want to entertain anyone.
I do not want to hear my name.
I do not want to fix supper.

I shut down and die each night.
Spending my evening in my zippered zebra pajamas
And fluffy socks that do not have to match.
I pick up the remote and two I-pads and I sit in a stupor
Dead as the wall, the floor, the carpet, anything in the room.

I die the second I jump into my pajamas.
My phone goes off, and I am incognito, inaccessible, and dead.
My husband annoys me sometimes.
"Someone is calling you."
He used to answer my phone.
He has learned.
This is a dumb thing to do.
I will not be coaxed, coerced, or guilt-ed into anything I do
Not want to do.

I am dead, in my Lazy-Girl chair, clicking aimlessly through TV
shows I am not watching. I am dead to you, and me, and him
and everyone else. I die every night. It is how I can face the next day at work.
