Religious Thoughts
Mistletoe hung o’er alabaster Angels Wreathes of holly Wrapped round a morose marble God At times I’m charmed By thoughts of Gods and Angels… And yet at other times I find religion rather odd

My friend’s partner is dying

And I can do nothing;

Nothing to help her pain

Nothing to keep her sane

Nothing to help her breathe,
When the wreathes
Start coming.

My friend’s partner is dying

And I can do nothing....

Split Second
The arches of the rain
Are color wheels, that chain
Like wreathes around the clear
Silver skies so near.

The rainbows tie the blue
Together, in my view.
And for a moment I
Notice God go by.

Infinity is wound
About me, all around,
And then it goes once more,
And I’m like before.

Spellbound life takes dream flight, magic wreathes charmed longing where fancy shadows sway in moonlight. Stardust wand blurred, swings in weird hands in sapphire bay, wizard. Romance performs ballet trance. Spellbound life takes dream flight, swings in weird hands in sapphire bay, trance.

Teenage Taps
When all the rosy ribbons fade
A bloody red to brown,
The military wreathes they made
Are rotting on the ground.

I’m in a hero’s heaven now
With warriors who have died:
A bed of lead that won’t allow
A single worm inside.

Instead of gathering to grieve,
Agreeing war is bad,
You women-hearted men believe:
What fighting fun I had!...

A smile cracks my face
can you hear the joy?
Delight wreathes eyes
hidden from your view
fullness blossoms
because of you.

There’s a bounce in my step
can you see the joy?
Longing be not the villain
but the harbinger of delight
when unhidden from your sight.

Because of you
fullness blooms
on the winter stalk
golden forsythia flowers....

Poppy Wreathes
People of many nations
Rallied to the cause
United in their effort
To end two World Wars.
At the many Cenotaphs
Poppy Wreathes are laid
With two minutes silence
And National respect is paid.

Veterans of all generations
Think of their lost friends
Tears are held back as
Each ceremony ends.
We have kept our promise
Renewed every November
In spite of passing years
We will always remember....

Unto Gentle Love
Lady of the dawn
And angel of the eve
In twilight moments
Thou unfold your wings
Thus, become the one I need

Into nightless weaves
Unto gentle love
Caress breathless 'neath
Morning songs in satin wreathes
Afterglows above

In essence passion paints
Thou lift me up
Higher than a mountain
Over heavens clouds
Further to spread thy wings

Away warfaring flying far
Then to home thy bring
Hand in heart in hand
A man in angel arms
As all the world awakes...
