Her Eyes (Haiku)

Haiku #1.

                            Filled with nostalgia as
I stare back from their depths
                          Crystal pools of radiance.

Africa

Africa,
I reconcile your genius with nostalgia,
perfervidity and relic lust;

your age with the whiteness
of a virgin void of earliness;

and your life with the tenderness
of the yolk of God.

Where do you dwell?

Vignette-Easy Listening

With nostalgia,whimsy and wit
Into English folklore he was writ
Showing his loves & himself, without measure
His poetry became a national treasure
metered euphony,a reading pleasure

Tribute to the work of John Betjeman mentioned recently in my blogs.

First Flakes of Snow

Here they come.
First flakes of that white snow
Still stirs the child in me
Melting flakes on my hand
envelop me with nostalgia
Still I get that smile on my face
Still I start dreaming
Still I feel warm at heart
in that chilling cold
Still I want to dance
With those first flakes of snow.

Postcards and paper plane's

Postcards and paper plane's.

Postcards and paper plane's I'd never thought to throw away, some day I may reminisce how flying and crying mingled with nostalgia, as my travels have been short. Maybe the plans will resemble my freedom on the wings of desire, and the postcards remind me of home, in all the places you have been.

Guilt

I am thankful,
I am so lucky,
yet at times I cry,
filled with sorrow,
not quite knowing where I belong,
wanting to escape the world,
for a moment I forget,
forget that I am loved,
I am lucky,
yet I cry,
will future me look back on now,
with nostalgia,
or with sadness,
that I felt pain so deeply,
but with so much to be thankful,
I am guilty,
one day I will be okay,
not yet.
but one day.

Ode To the Midnight Streets With Autumn Trees

The midnight streets,
Are empty,
And the ladies,
Are filled,
With longings,
And croissants,

The moon,
Has lit,
Its candle,
From within,
And the songbirds,
Are filled,
With nostalgia,
And wine,

The autumn trees,
Are shedding,
Their leaves,
And the jazz,
Is shedding its blues,

Some quaint irises,
And exotic roses,
Adorn the lakes,
And the moon,
And their love is yours

Zero

Josiah conquers revisionists
by stating an old-world axiom:

     “When seeking structure,
one must be mindful of decay.”

He taps a rusted column with
an ordinary wooden cane,

releasing decades of oxidation
in particulate dust.

As his nephew secures the wire
on the final shape-charge

a tear wells with nostalgia
and sympathy for the hobbled

until the flurry of blasts
at zero.

Indulging

Oh! The joy of life when one it seems
wants to climb into a portrait of sentiment,
only then to create a trembling emotion
that completes an insatiable mind,
when one’s image blending with nostalgia
ferments for a moment like a perpetual habit
served up as vintage wine.
To be reconciled with one’s inner self,
the body here now, yet, a mind
locked in another dimension reliving
a fading monochrome print, brought
to life with one’s own vivid anamnesis.
