Grey skies sure bring down our spirits Affecting our thinking and clouding our wickets No one's immune As cloudy skies loom We go wiggy and lose control of our biscuit

Premium Member Chocolate Bad

It's said each piece of chocolate shortens life by 2 minutes By that calculation, I'm dead... died in 1543, don't have any limits You may think I'm daft Looney toons in the aft But statistics don't lie, they just cloud your wickets

Premium Member Skipping Stones

Round and smooth, cool in your palm,
you lean back and let them soar,
cutting cleanly down to walk on water.
They skip, shining wickets
glancing in the silver light slipping low.
You turn,
letting fly a stream of words,
impulsive and precipitous,
that drop into my heart one stone.

The Lads

Chase the leather
Lads. Keep the wickets
Lads. Love your mum
Lads. Be strong
Lads. Don’t cry
Lads. Be healthy
Lads.

Obey your headmaster
Lads. Listen to the bobby
Lads. Listen to the government
Lads. Look down the sights
Lads. Don’t reveal your position
Lads.

Be silent
Lads. Die in anonymity
Lads. Drag the dead bodies
Lads. Dig your hole
Lads. Grasp your hair
Lads. Eat the soil
Lads. Never come back
Lads.

Premium Member Life Mire - Andaree

Written: April 21, 2024 For Andrea Dietrich Andaree Contest ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Worry and stress weigh heavy on my spirit. Lately, scowling is my lone licit! Donning threads I don't desire. I heave and acquire. Deep. Dismay! mire Life gameplay Will you tire this dire Expand; love; improve higher - Your psyche and flesh are your wickets. Life isn't obvious, some concern, much merit.
