I studied all night long.
I think I aced my math test.
Numbers dancing in my head.

A Math Whiz! A veritable Einstein!
Quarky and quirky, a tangent his Shrine
He never combed his hair
His sockless feet were bare
Experts wondered: Would this guy's stars align?
You did a whiz bang job honey
An expert could not have done better
Thanks Dad, Kathy said
But I am an expert
That’s why I have doctor in front of my name
And the hospital pays me to do this surgery
Used to be a whiz at chess way back when
Not a world class player but enjoyed myself, no end
Losing wasn't an option
That proved a problem
Had to be restrained, d'ya know what I'm sayin'?
Used to be a whiz at chess way back when
Not a world class player but enjoyed myself, no end
Losing wasn't an option
That proved a problem
Had to be restrained, d'ya know what I'm sayin'?
Our inventions long ago surpassed the wheel and fire
paper, compass, printing press, penicillin, rubber tire
vaccines, light bulbs, electricity, radio, and colored tv
rockets, air conditioning, fiber optics, printers 3-D
we always think everything ever invented already is.
Until someone proves us wrong, usually a kid with Whiz.
Gee Whiz
I ate a sandwich made of wurst
with four large beers to quench my thirst
because my clothing was of worsted
I was extremely hot and really thirsted
I drank some more and nearly bursted
I ran to the john to relieve my pain
I had to wait for I wasn't firsted
when it was free I hurriedly ran
the whiz came out like heavy rain
after relief I repeated the act
and then went home for another snack

They had a whiz-bang chatter this morning.
A grandma grandson yackety-yak
Chatty Chat Chat Smile Laugh Laugh
On Facetime, an I-phone application
It was waggery talk
Mischievous but harmless
Nothing offensive was said
It brought a calm to both parties
The FaceTime concept less intimidating than I thought
At first it had bewildered and perplexed us
Grandma did not want to try it until this morning
Now she says “Who shall we call next?”
