Once sat upon on a waveless ocean
Time stood still for lack of motion
No one spoke for all could see
The guardians of Eternity
For water slowly turned to glass
Ablaze with fire, no soul could pass
And all knew time at last dist bring…
The final day of reckoning

a tempest rages
in a ringing shell
sleep slopes down
into waveless depths
The mind has miles
leagues foreshadowing
the whole span of a moment
in full
A gulls gullet opens -
it speaks of sea-dreams
never remembered
a child looks out beyond
a plunging bed
to a place
where legs dangle
over old age

The sun crept down on a waveless lake,
The phantoms slithered among the trees,
I search and I search with every breath I can take,
Wolves howl down this is not a place for me,
Camphor burns thin casting a shadowed filled fate,
Ravens flock in shock and flee,
Illuminated eyes waiting for my wake,
Another endless night in void bound journey.

The garden, it is fast asleep,
Or so it would appear—
I wonder what the Roses dream,
Of dewdrops cool, and clear?
So peacefully they are folded
For their midnight reverie—
Still as a day without a breeze,
Or a waveless azure sea.
And I watched them from a distance
Being curious to know—
What dreams entice the Daffodil
As they slumber sweetly so?

A thousand sighs whisper
Across the starry night.
An echo unreachable
Like a snowflake lost from sight.
Awakens a longing, that internal beat,
an ancient music tuned, to the
shimmering of the desert heat.
Turning ten thousand pages
Upon waveless shores,
weeping each moment of
time missed of the passing ages.

Try to type nothing.
Try to remember the beginning.
Try to find the spirit of the non-words.
The sound that makes a bell ring.
Try to remember the sound.
It was a waveless sea of light, wasn't it?
Try to remember it---being louder.
And try not to tear out your eyes in your process,
Or anything else .
Try to summon that ageless, silent sound
By not typing anything.

Drift a small boat with two paddles
In the sky above
Swiftly passes by the lake surface
A frightened swan
Clear blue sky painted with
The green mountains
All the beautiful scene is
Taken by the still water
Waveless lake shapes like a mirror
With countable fish swimming
In clear water
On the sandbank by the river
White birds take a leisurely perch thereon
Look like you
Look like me

The garden, it is fast asleep,
Or so it would appear--
I wonder what the roses dream,
Of dewdrops cool, and clear?
So peacefully they are folded
For their midnight reverie--
Still as day without a breeze
Or a waveless azure sea.
And I watch, though from a distance,
As I'm curious to know--
What dreams entice the Daffodil
As they slumber sweetly so?

Summer sand soft and sultry,
Salty sweat, sweet and wet.
Wistless wind, waveless water,
Bathers baking, basking burning
Seagull scavenger of shiny sea
Searching, scurrying squabling over scraps.
Wandering women walk with will
Wondering why weight won’t wither.
Trembling toddlers take tentative steps
Towards towering tidal tempest
Cumulonimbus clouds clearing
Silent sky screaming
Silken sunlight streaming
Doting Dad daydreaming

What of the love when green is gone?
When autumn’s chill brings rainbow hues.
So delicate the weathered stems, that break with just the slightest breeze.
Beware the towering evergreens with mulch about their roots.
fragile autumn leaves
fall upon a waveless pond…
refugees in boats
