Title Card

He is one of if not the most beautiful man, yet so brutal.
In the presence of his variants, all resistance is futile.
He's heroic in one, yet tragic in multiversal...

Nightmare Spawn

cunning spawn of hell

who gained access to humans

through the world of dreams . . .

with each nightmare inflicted,

ruling us all is his goal

Cuckoo - B

invasion
descendants deposed
cunning cuckoo

-----------------------

(c) John C Michaels, February 2017

I've posted two Haiku variants on the same theme: one is the traditional 5-7-5 form ("Cuckoo - A") and the other is me branching out to try a more contemporary style ("Cuckoo - B"). I hope you like them both.

Waves

As we enter another lockdown
for the third wave of this inexorable
pandemic, with new variants appearing
almost daily, and vaccination is progressing
hesitantly, while our school children are going
to remote again, and the ICU’s on the verge of over
flowing, I just can’t help wondering if the seventh wave
will be a tsunami.

My News On Front Page

Misquote me now,
I meant this,
you understood that,
and told them,
a mix of this and that,
two who heard you,
understood as they could,
they spread various variants,
of this and that,
by the time is was layer three,
hearers had added theirs, hers and his,
to originally floating this and that,
soon it gained space,
and ended up quite distorted,
on the front page.

To Those About Me

My conduits, loin and womb
Poles of my basic knowledge
Images I have had – and had to carry

Playmates, first instinct of variants
Names, faces, and statures
And the homes we head to after school

Hear ye of my teachers
Who’ve shown me to carve my niche
From earth’s rules and exceptions

In tracking the sun and you
Yes – here is where and what I am
This is to those about me indeed

Pollution and Stuff

"Pollution…..most call it humanity’s ‘progress’, but I call it humanity’s doom, because if we don’t stop this planet will eventually become a tomb.”

“Only 7% of bees can make honey, but we take it from them, just for some paper called ‘money’?”

“Most of the pollution is caused by cars, even though we have electrical variants, people don’t care about ideas from people who can go to Mars! ”

News From the Wizard of Oz

It's raining mud in Kansas,
200 miles an hour wind-hammers
broke Kentucky's heart.
Good people rush to help,
poets watch,
dogs bark
reporters report.

In the days of the Delta variants
children are left out in the cold
to eat lunch -
it's for their own good.

Meanwhile an iron gauntlet
grips the neck of the Republic
for its own good,
but it's all bad

and there is still no vaccine
for stupid.

Scorpions

We arose from restless dead since time before
your futile presence an ancient Earth did spore
your many variants, which we gladly sting,
no matter which holy deity or king
you set against. Serqet heals but cannot cure;
guardian of Qebehsenuef; brief allure
that regards canonic jar of chitterlings,
timeless amulet that bears such hollow rings.
Our poison always threats your sweet milieu
for still we dance a promenade à deux.

Covid Vaccine

Causative agent of disease
One of several variants to appease
Void of any discriminating abstractions
Interaction breeds human contagion
Distress inflamed in us by slow vaccination

Vaccine does diminish Covid effects
Antigen activity does reject
Chills that instill fear among us
Coughs that grip lungs, with expulsion dubious
Immunizations, please make haste
Never ending cautions are relentless
Ensuring man’s safety is quite precarious	.

Fantasy

Standing amidst the forest trees listening to their whispered words breathing their breaths like they were mine. Enveloped with viridescence: variants of moss, leaves and grass whose olfactics overwhelm me. My mind is intoxicated, seemingly assimilated with every patch, leaf and blade of grass whose metabolism’s are mine or conversely mine became theirs. Consequentially, I confess my fancies assume my psyche and Truth becomes an illusion.

Virtuous

Now COVID is ending, there’s cause for alarm;
The last several years, they’ve made bank on the harm.
The mandates have fallen; it seems they're all shot.
But Pfizer's a virus; it's coming in hot.
Pray for new variants? Or put life on hold?
Emergencies, fear ****: these never get old.
But maybe we've learned now: you don't mask a kid.
But when this mess started, none batted a lid.
If masking is virtue, and distancing too,
Then how will you signal when Omi is through?

Trouble Happens When the Heart Start- Thinking

my mind
as for it
concouisness my heart
thinks joyous thinks confidence
heart preference being distant variants

my heart
thinking self
righteousness being
disputes will be maybe null
Impending mystik muddle heart pumps, now rules

apprised
is it real
conscious is my heart
joyous, I think it is not
peference I should allow only my mind-

Allotted only allow my mind to to think, and not my heart
