Nestling

Words are mine.
Otherness will prevail.
I will call you.

Faraway in dark
I will wake up in arms
of a feeling.

A little yellow-
bird has made her home
in the glass window.

I have rights, but oft times
A chosen wrongs
That gives me burns
I have weights that I can't lift
Up in arms, needless worries
Timid and bold
This story told
I 've chosen wrong...

Speech after speech, the summit dragged on
though all agreed every nation had won

Then on the day when the bomb descended
and life on Earth as we know it ended

Indignant attendees were up in arms
~ for climate change had done no harm

Limerick: Once a mum Mademoiselle rode in a Metro

           for Heather M.

Once (a) mum Mademoiselle rode in (a) Metro
Felt snug and dozed dreaming of Brando
Lights went out, the train stopped
Coach temperature dropped
She woke up in arms of Eskimo.

    Where there is no trust
there is no point in ‘talks’

    Terms one side proposes
      the other will reject ...

    But 'keep the momentum going’
      'Schedule another round of talks'

Fancy tuxedos drone on and yawn
boy soldiers fall ~ families up in arms

Premium Member Democracy or Autocracy

MAGA folks, with Trump are mostly delighted
Democrats up in arms, yet affrighted

Is Trump dealing democracy a ‘death blow’
or just displaying ‘common sense,’ you know

Who to ask? Ted Cruz? Nancy Pelosi? Chuck Schumer? JD Vance?
~ How about Nikki Halle or Mike Pence?

An Initial Post-Marriage Poem

O invisible sympathetic listener
Will it annoy my elder Hitler-sister-in-law?
(O my colleague! An Arabian teacher, mocked English
and fought me for its ambiguity);
I mean my wife’s sister.
Like the Jerusalem
With ‘What Must Be Said ’!
Or but to stop this stupid self is …!
If I say I respect her,I kiss her on lips
And eyes,
Lift her up in arms
And wrestle …!
But to detest someone so dearly loved,
Or forget —
Seems unworkable …!

RESOLUTIONS

my resolutions?
i don’t dare think how many
so? won’t make any

two thousand thirteen
will come with january
fade – february

just like all the rest
predictions are numerous
cartoons humorous

politicians bad
the voters all up in arms
sick of d.c. charms

prices going up
wages quite stationary
unemployed many

uncared for homeless
with their numbers increasing
and rich desisting

i’ll sit by and watch
expectations will be few
all in all what’s new?

Alarms

I’ll never get used to alarms
Though homeowners see all their charms.
It’s too easy to make
Just one tiny mistake
Which can cause some to be up in arms.

To disarm one you need fob or code
Or you’ll wake an entire abode
For the noise it emits
Blows one’s eardrums to bits
And those woken from sleep may explode.

In the city, alarm use is rare
And it isn’t that people don’t care
But a doorman and lock
Chase the thieves from the block
To the suburbs – alarmers beware!

Steal a Kiss Sounds Ludicrious

Steal A Kiss Sounds Ludicrous

Maybe exact point pretended to miss
But from a widow lady, steal a kiss
I even heard it was early one morning
And it was done without warning.

Neighborhood is up in arms complaining
And would do a thing with no training
A hold of himself he had to get
Must go to court and have to admit.

Was on front page and magazine cover
How he looked like being a lost lover
It was discovered that he had dementia
And court released him in abstentia.

Alabama

If I lived in Alabama
I would so much disapprove
Of the attitude towards women
That I’d simply have to move.

There’s a revolution coming
And, despite those southern charms,
Many Alabama females
Should right now be up in arms.

For to challenge a decision
That’s been law for many years
Proves that women’s low-class status
In that state still perseveres.

I’ll not visit Alabama;
I don’t know why someone would
But I hope there will be protests
And perhaps they’ll do some good.
