The Darkness
The darkness creeping in,
Surrounded by the light
Not knowing where to begin
Tired of this unwinnable fight.
The darkness all around me,
Just trying to get by
Not knowing what to be
If only I could grow wings and fly.
The darkness does not fade,
It does not go away
Light cannot be made
For here there is not day.
The darkness is deep,
Has become part of life
I refuse to let myself weep
