They used to say “To the victor, the spoils”… I’ve lost count of how many poems I’ve scribbled with the message, “To the victor, the SPOILED”. Any war is unwinable if the prize is dust. A great write in your inimitable ‘deep thought’ style, David.

Thanks Terry it’s amazing to think that people would destroy themselves in an unwinnable war, but the madness is, if you don’t retaliate when attacked by nukes, then the aggressor will be victorious, makes no sense either, a standoff truce is the only way, cheers David

An unstoppable force is much needed, or does it matter when all combatants are a match of power. Best if all sides are in stillness mode. "far better to have a standoff truce ~ than fight an unwinnable war" INDEED! Good One, David.

When an irresistible force meets an implacable barrier, the result is a stale mate or a Mexican standoff!

Heya Anaya, therein lies the crux All the world wars that have been fought up til now have had some form of winner, the next one won’t, the standoff truce is the only winner, cheers David

I’ll do my best Sara, I think a lot of truth in this one, if we delve a little deeper, cheers David

What's the use of demolishing a whole country and winning a wasteland?

That question is one only Putin can answer Victor, I don’t believe the US will ever use them unless attacked by them first, either way there will be no winners, cheers David

So true David, surely by now Putin must realise he's not going to win his 'special operation' I'm getting tired of his sabre rattling about nuclear weapons, Tom

Heya Tom, you are right to a certain extent, but I feel the west cannot take his comments lightly, after all he does have them nukes, it’s probably a bluff game but you can never be absolutely sure when dealing with callous bastards like Putin, cheers David

Hello David, Your poem is wonderfully thought-provoking! The imagery of an impenetrable shield and an unbreakable sword clashing, yet not losing a single atom, is powerful and profound. I appreciate the wisdom in your words about the value of a standoff truce over an unwinnable war. It's a succinct yet impactful reflection on the nature of conflict and the importance of peace. Well done! - Blessings, My Friend, Daniel

I enjoyed reading your powerful Monoku writes. Few words in each one with much said. Yes, it would be an unwinnable war. Have A Blessed Day Writing Away..........

Thank you Paula, I’m just hoping the ones with their hands on the button realise nuclear war is unwinnable, I think they do know and that’s why they haven’t pressed it yet, cheers David

Good to hear from you Deb, this one of course is on the nuclear war scale, which of course is unwinnable, so the only solution for peace is to maintain the implicit nuclear stalemate, cheers David
