Spring warmth
to unlace,
Winter must lose
face-
for
wholeness
and shalom,
all egos be
gone

tears across space
The lines of my face
your fingers do trace
Two lives of grace
no foe can unlace
pride will not let go
'til our selfishness we know,
on pendulums we swing
as emotions sing,
reason has no place
'til faith we will unlace
and humility let flow

The weight of the day begins to fade,
As shadows stretch where light has played.
Unlace the boots, let stillness grow,
And feel the clock begin to slow.
Now close your eyes imagine a golden gleam,
A heavy coin within a dream.
Reach out your hand and take the prize.
You’ve earned the peace behind your eyes.
The tongue of summer’s sun
nearly sears my skin as I unlace
strings on my bikini.
Sultry rays I lie back to embrace!

I lean my face near the burning fireplace
As I embrace the warmth that gives me grace
And base my thoughts upon the human race
I keep up pace in my small comfort space
And unlace evil climbing the staircase
To chase our souls that leave a loving trace.

I’ve tried,

The glow of the dying sun
Colors the city pale orange.
Only a moment the scene lasts;
Turning to memory so foreign.
The orange glow cress tulips,
Lending them a vivid hue.
Only a season tulips will last;
Wilting until their next debut.
The glow that fills the hearts
Of lovers in embrace;
“Forever” they say it will last,
Until lovers knot unlace.
Why must beautiful things
Fade away and die?
Leaving taunting memories
Which will fade in time?
