Strange Bathfellows
A spider traipsed onto my knee
While I was reading in the bath
Though most might jump and scream and flee,
I just gave a little laugh

the dreaming adze*
lest they awake the monster
waiting in the nothing.
* Adze: a vampiric being in Ewe folklore, told by the people of Togo and Ghana.
