The hour suggests me,
the day re-forms.
No need to talk to the bathroom mirror,
new skin and a new nakedness of features
are obvious.
Time tested
I live out-of-myself,
just a breath away from any former reality.
Though I am changed and still changing,
the light in these eyes are the same.
the surface it shimmers
& sparks in the sun
but as i'm picturing depths,
walls of protections & flesh
undone
i wonder,
to toss aside the time tested knowledge
in favor of a newer,
seeming sweeter
flavor
would i find the truth of it,
the heart, the flesh, the pit
to be the same
as in all things that carry a seed?
Listen to poem:
As the Photograph Dim
David J Walker
There was more color
At one time
Within the wooden frame
Time tested, time faded
Now a struggle with
Each name
And even though the
Dates remain the same
Written in pencil on the back
She lacks enough memory to
Remain within the context
Of the lens
As the photograph dims
A time tested honor
to be branded a goner,
just stand in the middle
of their circle of blame.
In this sex-crazed society
still obsessed with propriety,
it is you they'll belittle
to protect their good name.

Keep pointin' dem fingers boys!

Smug little faces
Oily little faces
Sunday best clad
Little children
Listen to the old
Time tested
Tired preacher
Accepting it all
They have trouble
Thou swallowing
Accepting he had
To be nailed for
Their petty little sin
(teach a child of my ways and when they mature they shall never depart from it ~the good book~)
Drink all night,
And next day,
Time tested method,
To keep fear away
Of course sanity
Goes as well,
Lucidity, oh what the hell,
Hasn't done
That much good for me
As I suppose,
You plainly see,
Charge the trenches
Bayonnet gleams
In a field
Of horrid screams
And if you make it
To tomorrow,
All that is guaranteed,
Is lots more sorrow.
A bunch of dead leaves.
They cling on the eaves,
verging on falling
killed by frost.
Coating the earth.
Sweaty brow that furrows in
thought as the wind pushes.
Leaving them only to fly
back--can’t get them all–
the fruits of this labor
eternal and constant
as the dead petals
Back and forth.
Cold, crisp rhythm
sweeping out the old.
Time tested,
true auburn harmony.
The Soul Is Immortal - - -
can't be killed
will live on
in infamy
through eternity
if you have lived
a good, clean life.
It's an energy source
that transcends death,
moves through dimensions
with a heavenly flow
that has you questioning
time tested theories
based upon suppositions
that delve into
supernatural science fiction
with a twist
of earthly components
rummaging through
time.
Weather tested
Time worn
Annoyed because
It is not yours.
Seasons change
Must adjust.
Pull your weight,
And didn't trust.
Kids have needs.
Goats get cross.
Toss them "eats",
Now where's he gone?
The whole day's spent,
Then breakfast's on.
It's what to think
As the day begins.
[(Weather beaten
Mud stained
Time tested.
Once again. . .)]
