the close darkness holding

the fuse and fuzz of shadows
as they meld and malform
glimmers of lost light 
spit their desperation 
Creaks and cracks mutter
a defiance of the day
The dull ache of alone
parades itself in glorious glory
night it’s favourite catwalk
The mind so hopeful
of some malevolence 
it’s tendrilled traces ripping
me apart
to end this numb
but nothing ever comes...

and the bristle yap of a garden dog

and billowed edges

set for another encore
grass tantalises with samba sways

golden ashes transmute to dirt
as dancing flies
