Alabaster Wings

Alabaster wings in celestial blue, glissading on the surface of winds. Stalking the shore, aerial view, for luckless winkles and crabs — briny delicacies. Lightly ascending on tapered wings, seagull sails - graceful white. Susan Ashley July 17, 2017

I am endlessly inspired by the ocean, my dear friend, and this poem is very special to me. I love the sight of white wings against a summer blue sky and I agree, it is beautiful to watch the effortless float of alabaster wings on the ocean wind. I relish your wondrous comments and your inspiring presence, Mike. Enjoy your weekend and happy new year, my wonderful friend.. ~Susan

Such a graceful Etheree, Susan. I love the imagery. Alabaster against a blue background is very eye-catching. Seagulls can be very inspiring, and several times they nudged my muse. ~ Warm regards // paul

I agree Paul, alabaster against a summer blue sky is beautiful..Seagulls and the sea inspire contemplative and meandering thoughts when I have time on summer days to walk along the seashore.. Thank you for your lovely and insightful comments, your visits always delight me! Warmest wishes.. ~Susan

Brevity can deliver, and this one does. It's appeal is lighthearted and airy. The more I think about it, the more I believe what I wrote you earlier - you would excel in the Haiku form. Hugs ... CayCay

Thank you Heidi for your kind return to this poem. I'm so happy that you love it, I love it too. This is a very special write for me and it's so awesome that you came back to it, so very appreciated. I also think that Etherees are so underrated, they deserve more respect as a poetic form, don't you think..? :)

You know I love them Seagull but one of them stole my sandwich at dock. I had only bend down to get something never even seen it coming. Lol! Beautiful write, Susan :)
