SUNSET

Evening comes
and with it comes
the lesser lights--
the sun begins to set
orange, red, and crimson
streaks and arching
tangents blaze the skies,
we are meant to see this
blaze of colors and
wonder of wonders
formed by the creator
sun sets and stars soothe
while we wish....

I explore the tangents of my mind,
to expand the horizon of my kind,
my kin, my friends in sin sublime,
who drink the same wine of wisdom of word,
of noun, subject, adjective, verb,
pronoun, in these we are never perturbed,
preposition, conjunction, we know their function,
and thrive to master the craft through expression,
blessed-curse, we dig deep into our phrase purse,
and scream through time our declaration of passion....

Rushing here, there and everywhere,
A mind that leaps canyons and space
Ricocheting, bouncing on rock walls,
Dislocation with turbulent pace.
Scuffing up dust and then zinging,
Off at wild tangents or angles,
Darting, exploding like fireworks,
Neurological barbed wire tangles.
And sometimes, sometimes crave tearing
At the flesh beneath tingling skin,
To rip this man-suit off the mainframe
And extinguish the chaos within....

Parallel lines running through the sacred peaks.
Oh behold how the tattered bows squeak.
Rain falls harshly in the infinity of space.
Rats race in the rat race.
Tangents rise in the future of sound.
Watch closely....closer still, hope can be found.
We roll the dice day after day.
Drops of mercury fall silently away.
Pictures painted right after creation.
In a flailing mess of degradation.
