Rain 10
monsoon yet to come
bay of Bengal is depressed
storm-tossed tide and ebb

Premium Member I Realize
Tears have brimmed just beneath
a facade I afford humanity.
Held at bay with fragile strength,
weakened by emotional casualty.

Pain, anger. I unravel.
Elements of personality lost.
I feel my essence shrivel.
Patience like an angry sea, storm tossed....

Premium Member I Have Jesus
Whatever happens on the storm-tossed way,
Whatever happens to cloud up the day,
Whatever happens to cause me dismay~

I have Jesus.

Jesus, The One Who quiets the sea
Jesus, The One Who makes the clouds flee,
Jesus, The One Who brings hope to me~

I have Jesus.

Hope
Dreams of tommorow
Life that will be
Like a glimpse of land
On a storm tossed sea
The winds they are calming
Sun peeks through the clouds
I knew you were listening
I scream to God out loud
No tears no worry
No melancholy thoughts
A soul that was in turmoil
No longer lost
The struggle of coping
Like darkness of night
Will not prevail
With hope by my side...

... For Betty
spring night owls

dream i can’t quite wake from

beautiful interlude
spirit grain
rice slippery
pavement warm
gray nights
all bound up
with what
will she write
tomorrow
ever again

queqeg
in a storm-tossed
journey
trading breadfruit
for wine
bouncing balls
 and
friendship

for short staccato forgiveness
of madness
silent growing
so nearly gone...

Sea Change
I am not the first to sail these storm tossed seas,
many many have journeyed before me,
and many many more will come,
the vessel I captain grows weary with the day,
each rise and fall, each tilt and sway,
I log the journey for one day to share,
these waters are charted so future sailor beware,
onward I go passing others along the way,
knowing and hoping calm shores await, one day....

My Final Chapter
When I take my last breath,
 always remember my love.
I tried to do my best~
 My best was not enough.

 Don't grieve for me
 when I am gone.
 I will be at Peace
 in my new Heaven-Home.

 I've anchored my soul
 in the Haven of Rest.
 No more "WHAT IF's"
 I tried my best~

 This storm-tossed life~
 the Battle-so long...
 now no more heartaches,
 the waters are calm~...

Premium Member A City Boy Set Sail
A slender lad, a city boy, set sail
'Board ship that hugged the contours of his coast
But lo! there brewed a mighty storm that night

The frail lad's heart did rise and fall that night
As gazing at each battered, storm-tossed sail
He wondered if again he'd see that coast

When morning broke, the lad espied his coast
Remembering the perils of that night
He marveled at how steady was each sail

~ No longer did he need to see the coast...

Hurricane
Storm-tossed tempest, foaming waves,
fluid furor, drowns the brave,
surge waters from the hurricane
breaks breakwaters men have paved.
Swirling maelstrom, fast winds rage,
through the trees their howls rave,
roofs fly off seaside enclaves,
fools who stayed will know the grave,
comes to claim both good and knave...
Concrete and steel might be saved,
even then it’s a close shave,
oceans never do behave,
Poseidon laughs from his sea-cave....
