Shadowed conspiracies..
A religion start-up..?
All dismantled by inquiry
Into the Self we are...
Atop the overhead sprinkler pipe
The sparrow hops, showering notes.
My ears are wet, but I've no regret;
A little singing flame does grow.
Come sparrows many and copy dad;
Come drowning showers and make me glad.
A-sing in sprinkles alive with light,
I'll start up fires that blaze all night!

Remembering What Comes Next

Sometimes in the mornings
I wonder if
it really isn’t all over and
I am just looking back
Trying to remember
This particular today
And everything I said
So I find my love in
Another part of the house
Doing something useful and
Start up a conversation to see
If I remember what comes next
Jesus became the life within a sea of dead pixels
The programmers believed it was just a glitch
Because they could not fathom life returning
For it ripped apart the code of the cosmos
The awakening was no simulation or virus
It was the unveiling of intro and credits
The start-up and switching off of all things
Jesus became the life returned and what life brings
What do a Jeep, a Ford and a Chevy have in common?
Wheels, air, heat, dashboard, chrome, bumpers, seats,
Steering wheel, headlights, tail lights.
I start to wind down on my guesswork.
He does not nod so I start up again.
Tires, hoods, knobs, door locks, door handles
Keep going he says
Engines, carburetors, windshield wipers.
I can see him shaking his head no
Go on, he says.
But I do not want to.
Out on the edge of something bigger than I
Not looking behind me I can’t reason why
It’s a matter of faith; it’s a matter of fact
I have to go now, I have to act
I cannot wait any longer my time has come
Will it go quickly, asking, have some
No fear I feel as I get prepared
I look across, the others seem scared
One final breath I take as I go
I’m on; it’s my turn, start up the show
I see the snow falling again,
Again I must start up ""Old Betsy"" before bed,
Bed brings cold feet and shivers until the
body heat thaws it out,
Out again to start another day,
Day brings kid's hopes of no school,
School radiators pop and moan to warm the
building,
Building up of snow is a potential income
for the young scooping snow for the old,
Old and tiring is Another Iowa Winter.
The old songs can make me cry
As those memories go floating by
Those times still ring true
On the dance floor swaying with you
They start up and I know
Where the music will make me go
It’s the darkened room with you so close
That’s the time I like the most
I suppose you sometimes wonder
As I close my eyes and wander
Does he still love me better than the rest
But you are still my girl best.

H is for Happy, a tickled pink smiley
A jam on a pancake, made of strawberry
to start-up a day
when you can just play
dress like a princess, and mom is the fairy.
H is for Happy, a birthday wish for you,
to feel in your heart, though everything is new
to laugh and then giggle
to dance and then jiggle
run, skip and wiggle like that day at the zoo.
