A Fathima - Limerick .

The poetry priestess Dawood
Donned her Bowler ,as only she could .
But a bad Irish breeze
Jellied her knees .
Still her squiggly scarf wrapped her GOOD !!!!

More Than My Basset

Love pretty ladies, they sure turn my crank They make me all squiggly to be perfectly frank Love their assets More than my basset Wish one would give my dear parts a yank

My Brat Son Scottie

Next to the definition of “brat” in the dictionary Is a picture of son Scottie dressed like a fairy Gonna show him what I wrote Probably hide my toy boat Or might even put a squiggly thing in my sherry

Make-Up

You cannot have that face. It doesn't belong to you.
Try some other image, but not those star eyes of blue.
Red is fine for lips, but not those squiggly lines at edge.
Original face required, when you take the circus clown pledge.

Greek To Me

Yes I am hungry
For knowledge of the ages
I search through ancient scripts
Pages and pages

The words appear
Like Greek to me
Lines on pages
All squiggly

If I could understand
These words I see
I am sure this book
Would help set me free

Squirrley Squiggly

Squirrely squiggly
Toughly Triggly
Whirly Wiggily
Girly Giggily

Laughingly happy
Graphing her Gaffy
Draffingly Draffy
Slappily slappy

Nonsensical verse
Comically inverse
Maniacally reverse
Fanatically converse

Piggily pig
Jiggily jig
Miggily mig
Squiggily squig

Quarterly Report

Squiggly lines, short and tall lines. Back in a classroom eating a box lunch with Donna, my attentive husband and other strangers.

I Scribble Scrabble Scratch and Scrawl

I scribble, scrabble, scratch and scrawl
Squiggly words on walls down the hall
I am a scribe, and I must write
Sentences flowing out of sight

Some people might not be able to comprehend
My ideas are pushing and prodding me to begin
I have a pencil or pen in my hand every day.
Almost every moment is grand, writing is play.

Night Fishing

Wolves howl at the moon shining over the ridge
Golden light glancing off the silver steel girders,
Slithers of squiggly speckles ripple in the stream
After the trotline is suspended between buoys
The night fishermen play five-card stud poker,
And swap tall tales about their youthful follies.

Fishing - It's a Worms Life Sometimes

Wiggly worm, squiggly worm
Why do you squirm and wriggle

For I am just fishing for my lunch
I am not doing it for a giggle

The more you squiggle and you wriggle
Just makes it harder for me to hook you

But I hope when I am done
That I hook and land the fish who won

Hopefully it's a big one
Who eventually took you

Bookworm and the Clever Tree--

BOOKWORM AND THE CLEVER TREE--

magical mountain
a solid, clever tree reads
betrayed by the books

those uncovered pages
read in the dark in the park
betrayed by the looks

classical words read
those squiggly page worm embraces
bookworm reads all day

Moving On

This new year
I tuck you away
Like a sweater I no longer wear

You whose squiggly ink
occupy hardcover journals
I cherishingly placed
on a wooden bookshelf

You I've outgrown
You a place I no longer go to
You who are fading with time

Leaving only faint lines in my psyche
From where I draft new ideas
You the ghost of last year's thoughts

Ship of Fools

On a ship of fools without direction, Along a circuitous trajection, Sailors from every land and nation Drift not by chart, but hallucination, And their lofty voices, at once speaking A bit louder than the planks are creaking, Floating forever on waves, so giggly, Along a foamy blue course, so squiggly - Or will their cruise end, as the surf goes splash, And they laugh madly, while on rocks they crash?

Chubby Green Worm - Nursery Rhyme

A squiggly green worm, Feeding on the leaf, Wiggly, she does squirm, My plant's silent thief, She is bloated big, Watching me wide-eyed, Placed her on a twig, And left her outside, The chubby worm green, Wriggled to a plant, Then in silky sheen, Sweet sleep does enchant, Feeling a bit strange, She closes her eye, All ready for change, Soon, a butterfly.
