amid roaring mechanical monsters
they graze on the green elastic shrubbery
and chew the somber apples off the ground.
Soon a blanket of white dust
and the impression is lost,

Forgot how  to sparkle in ballrooms now full of mud
Integrity is packed in soundproof boxes, shipped to the archives, sealed, wrapped in duct 
tape.
A re-occurring  dream goes on and on and on: laughing water fountains slapping my wingless 
shoulder blades, as they blind me I step on life.......

The holes of the lace curtain,
Having closed the winter windows.
Life shimmers like so coveted blueberries.
So many pieces of obscurity.
The tops of the trees are spinning in the wind,
In a semicircle, back and forth,
Like whipping up the raw material for a biscuit.
Or maybe they're wringing their necks?
The wind has thrown the rumble of trains
Into a soundproof bag.
Every human is asleep....

The rain beats steadily on the new tin roof
The rhythm is pleasingly smooth.
I’m glad the room is not soundproof,
There’s no reason to consider a move.

I relax as I hear the beautiful sound
Of the steady pitter patter.
There’s no other sound anywhere around,
Not much else seems to matter.

I surely could abide here all day long
But duty will never allow.
I love the magic of nature’s song
It soothes every nerve somehow....
