The rain beats steadily on the new tin roof The rhythm is pleasingly smooth. I’m glad the room is not soundproof, There’s no reason to consider a move. I relax as I hear the beautiful sound Of the steady pitter patter. There’s no other sound anywhere around, Not much else seems to matter. I surely could abide here all day long But duty will never allow. I love the magic of nature’s song It soothes every nerve somehow.
