The Boston Tea Party - 1773

An ancestor known as, "Miss Lottie"
Was a New York socialite "hottie"
To her lasting disgrace
She slapped Paul Revere's face
When he invited her to the p-ah-ty

Kayla

Kind, she is always,
And stays in step.
Yes she’s a socialite in the making,
Lively and living life to the fullest,
A well mannered, that will be greatly missed, social princess.

Holly twirled ‘round fancy soirees,
Paul sighed at her champagne clichés.
She thought love was a Tiffany box,
He knew it was more like odd socks.

Holly Golightly is the naïve, New York City socialite character in Truman Capote’s Breakfast at Tiffany’s.

Premium Member I'm Gonna Clean Up Tonight

Ladies and gents, it's happening tonight,
a well-promoted prize-fight -
and a party with every bigwig and socialite.
I'll give you an exclusive invite!

It's where "No, it's not" meets "Yes, it is",
and "It is hers" meets "It is his".
Meet "Who is wrong?" and "Who is right?"
I'm an attorney. I'll make big bucks, alright.

The Model Behind the Mask

Their discreet shadow bourgeois dignity
The perfect couple and all would agree

It is her self-absorbed complicity
That allows his mock-connubial love

Children boarded at university
They’re left alone with their favorite games

She the charitable socialite queen
He and his secretary lunch lover

They share a commitment to worldly ends
A model husband and his lovely wife

Paris Hilton

If Paris Hilton wrote poetry
her poems would be smart, not dumb
They would not skim the surface
of her glam life
recount her escapades
but dig deep into her isolation
They would employ complex ideas
sophisticated diction
unusual images
She could easily be Mrs Dalloway
beyond her socialite persona
or Emma, with that dignified gaze
There's depth in those blue eyes
gleaming under the flashbulbs
