Notes About The Poem

Poem written for and submitted to “A Literary Character Clerihew” Poetry Contest, Andrea Dietrich, sponsor, January 6, 2025.

HOLLY GOLIGHTLY-Clerihew contest

Holly twirled ‘round fancy soirees,
Paul sighed at her champagne clichés.
She thought love was a Tiffany box,
He knew it was more like odd socks.

Holly Golightly is the naïve, New York City socialite character in Truman Capote’s Breakfast at Tiffany’s.
