The Half-Truth About Facebook
It’s our halfway house where we half-unwind,
Half-sociable, half-lazy,
And where half our friends we’re half-shocked to find
Half-interesting, half-crazy....

How Very Sociable
My daughter Joan is not at home
so do not call again.
She will not speak to anyone,
especially to men.
She says that she's a different girl
that she's no longer free,
and if you want a good night out
she's recommending me....

I Am
I am a paradox.
I am faithful and yet detached.
I am committed and yet so very relaxed.
I love pretty much everyone,
And yet no one.
I am sociable but also a loner.
I am gentle and also very tough.
I am passionate but,
I can also be platonic.
I am predictable in my own unpredictable ways....

Premium Member Balloons Lost To the Sky
The sky an ocean of gathering crimson,
leaden on hues French-vanilla ice-cream,
puffy cotton candy clouds wandering sociable.
Grassy field of red spice cinnamon poppies.

Dream of pleasure indulges in sweetness of childhood,
her large blue eyes watch, a half-smile hangs on,
a wink of sun glare, untighten her fingers,
cries, red balloons into the crimson they bolt.

Premium Member Three Cups To Be Nice
One cup of coffee.
Do I want breakfast?
Not yet. Second cup of coffee maybe.

I am still not pleasant.
I can feel my growly face.
I had better have a third cup.

If someone speaks to me
I might go off the deep end.
I am not ready to be sociable or nice yet.

My husband tiptoes in,
sees my face,
and turns back around.

He knows I am still in the “gnawing your legs off”
frame of mind this morning.
He and the dog both read me well....
