Notes About The Poem

Balloons Lost To the Sky

The sky an ocean of gathering crimson,
leaden on hues French-vanilla ice-cream,
puffy cotton candy clouds wandering sociable.
Grassy field of red spice cinnamon poppies.

Dream of pleasure indulges in sweetness of childhood,
her large blue eyes watch, a half-smile hangs on,
a wink of sun glare, untighten her fingers,
cries, red balloons into the crimson they bolt.

Oh, that feeling when the strings tug loose from the hand. Nicely done.

I cannot help but think you found the art first and wrote the poem in honor of it. Well done no matter which order!
