Untitled #97 / Carsick
Carsick staring up at the sky
close the roof as the sun rolls by
my seatbelt is a gray tongue that licks me into my seat
I’m beat, I’m beat, I’m beat, I’m beat, I’m beat...

The Unexpected
Life is full of the unexpected
Both welcomed and not
Never knowing what each day will bring
From life’s mystery pot
So fasten your seatbelt
Enjoy the ride ahead
Try not to dwell on the hard times
Savour all the good times instead...

A Very Unfortunate Ride
The sound of my heart
Thump, Thump Thump
The tracks turn to start
Click, Click, Click
The coaster starts to move
Bum, Bum, Bum
My stomach starts to groove
Glur, Glur, Glur
The coaster lift itself
Shwish, Shwish, Shwish
Forgot to check seatbelt
AH, AH, AH...

Trapped
Screeches of the tires,
The impact of the crash.
The sound of the
Water hitting the car.
I sit there trapped.
My seatbelt clings to
My weak body.
Unable to move.
As I sit there
Water flowing in
There’s nothing I can do.
Paralyzed in this car.
Paralyzed like my mind.
Trapped in my own head.
As the water flows in.
The car is my mind,
The water is emotion.
There’s nothing I can do.
I feel paralyzed as
These emotions overcome my mind....

The Accident
(This is a fictional poem)
I drove my taxi right after I smoked some pot.
I had a bad accident and a lengthy prison sentence was what I got.
I was taking a newlywed couple to a motel.
The crash I had killed them both and now my life is hell.
I was saved by my seatbelt but I wish I would've died too.
Living with this guilt isn't an easy thing to do.
If someone offers you marijuana, please say no.
Because if you drive right after smoking it, this prison is where you may go....

I do not know?
Going To the Doctors
Do not bring me to doctors’ appointments
unless you want me to tell the truth.
“I always wear my seatbelt,” you say.
“That is a lie,” I correct you.
“I threw away those pills,” you say.
“He took two of them yesterday,” I tell the nurse.
The nurse looks like she is going to cry.
This is about the eighth question,
and they have all gone the same way.
“I think I’ll wait outside in the waiting room,” I say.
If he wants to get medications based on lies,
is it really any of my business?...
