Star Magnolia in the winter cold
Can you give me any hope to hold
There on your branches, buds of silver
In this cold, I feel them shiver
But they are giving me a shred of hope
That soon spring will surely kaleidoscope
Sauntering through meadows of green grass
Spring breeze cast my scarf to the ground
Bending down to retrieve it
He plucked it and used it
To pull me closer
Red robin blushed
Matched my cheeks
As lips

Entry for Michael J. Falotico's Nonet Me a Spring Kiss contest
I've had so many seasons, and seeds I've had to sow,
winter seasons of dryness, where nothing seems to grow,
rainy seasons of sadness, where tears just flow and flow,
sunny seasons of joy, where love begins to show.
Throughout the seasons of my life, Jesus held my hand,
and brought me through each one of them, and taught me how to stand.
Form:
My garden lies sleeping,
Soon she will wake.
She bids me come to her
With spade and rake.
Take away my spent flowers
And plant some new.
Decorate me with angels
And a birdhouse or two!
Put a bench among my flowers
And sit for a while.
The melody of the wind chimes
Will make us both smile.
We’ll spend time together
On many warm days
And thank God our Creator
For His wonderful ways.
The flowers that she carried were so many and fresh
The fragrance of her memory that holds me complete
I will not forget her, the softness and her touch
For my love, she is gone, but love’s not to deplete
Awakened, the senses, within this man’s blue heart
By scent of the jasmine and the lilacs in bloom
Left now to live again, as dreams take me back
While sleeping alone in this new springtime room
Some people like to soak in the sun,
I like to soak in the shade,
sun doesn't care for me much,
on the other hand shade loves me.
The sweetness of a cool breeze,
brings me so much joy.
A hot wind, I can do without for sure,
sun bathing is like laying on hot coal.
Summer heat I can live without,
looking forward to those fall days,
when leaves begin to fall on my head and
a cool air blows my way.

Blaring horns
blaring horns
blaring all the way
blaring down the slippery streets on a winter's day
frenetic shoppers
frenetic shoppers
buying packages galore
purchasing everything they can from the Christmas store
taxi cab
taxi cab
taxi me home to my bed
to get over the wild party that's still happening in my head
empty wallet
empty wallet
not much left to buy
good thing it's almost over cause it makes me want to sigh.
Dulcet red sunset tranquil time__eve
This splendor of sunset at day's end
With my love next to me in his best
Eloqent words he speaks to me now
Come away love ride into sunset
Leave the world enter bliss he whispers
The fragrance of his spicy scent draws me
Yet this wafting scent of Wisteria
Lingers___beautiful lavender shade
Draws me back but his lilting voice speaks
Come__Oh! the tranquil sunset pulls me
But then the Whip-Poor-Will calls come
