command to meet the sweetness
love is dripping hot

the sweltering fortress of
life and love and sex

julia roberts
pace yourself in my mind cause
rotations are fast

In a dim, desolate bog,
between the wavering shadows,
a violet shows its clear blue face
to the wan, desultory sun—
a sweet, pristine reminder
of perennial rotations—
rebirth, dissolution,
waxing from the waning;
all haunting and sublime.

Laws of Motion

Where are the static river streams?
Where is the stationary sea?
Only in our thoughts and daydreams
can permanent things ever be.

Planets alter their rotations.
All objects dance to gravity.
Continents move their locations.
All things must change, including me.

Where Do Poets Get Their Inspiration

From the most obvious winds
From the fine pieces of clear air
From the dense smell of staved room
From the sun raise rotations
From the limitation of our oxygen
From the carbon dioxide released
From both parts of the body
From one another
From the essence of nature
From your eyes into mine.
Do you inspire?

Earth

You cannot tell,
My inner core
Has high heat,
High pressure.

Lava flows...

I stay calm on the surface.

I bear the heat of the sun,
I dance to the song of the rain.
I go through all seasons,
I keep up with rotations.
I lend colors to life,
I also offer a new lease of life.

I am Earth.

I bear all the burden;
While my blue companion floats free.

Feel rotations spin;
Can’t see where I’ve been,
Years approach and joy flies by.
When did it begin?
Much to my chagrin,
Goals elusive drift to sky.

Time is no man’s friend.
Final days I spend;
With anxiety I cope.
Begging God to end,
Yet I just suspend,
Hung by threads from fraying rope.

Impromptu

seems the hunting
season is over
except buck

put your dollar down
let the roulette
decide what

what may be your
door or lucky
number be

counting how many
random rotations
one if six

feverishly figuring
trying to count
the odds are

always with the
house so how
do they know

suddenly pick up
a spun gun
cylinders

and click this
time how
long

until the click
becomes the
became

When I Think

When i think i will cry when i think about Dry leaf,
              colors of blood,heavy rain,burning bodies of death,
              shadows and dark, water and tears, pain of love,
              dreams and sleep,rituals of god,play of time,
               rotations of planets,memories of our first love

                        when i think i will cry.

I thought you were dead
   but then I read
   your name in the alumni news.
Still hanging 'round the universities, I see,
   harvesting young women
   whose fathers had opinions.
As for me,
   I don't peruse the papers any more;
   factorial rotations are the kind of
   game you liked to play.
I pull the weeds, I sweep
   the path and climb the stairs.
   I tie back long vines
   of ridiculously red tomatoes.
And you're not dead?
   Why that's okay; me too.
