Carolyn Devonshire Poet Verse

Merry-Go-Round Alouette

Feel rotations spin;
Can’t see where I’ve been,
Years approach and joy flies by.
When did it begin?
Much to my chagrin,
Goals elusive drift to sky.

Time is no man’s friend.
Final days I spend;
With anxiety I cope.
Begging God to end,
Yet I just suspend,
Hung by threads from fraying rope.
