Scouring cerebral rooms.
Lost in the hallways of feeling.
Locked in emotional tombs.
Each key now revealing..
A door behind a door.
A mansion in my mind.
Apathetic drive carpeted floor.
Blue prints undefined.
Eclectic paintings hang.
Crooked on walls of peeling plaster.
Then my door bell rang.
Welcome to my mental disaster.
Standing in the dark of night
listen to my breath
as it hisses into the black
Orphaned raindrops
announce residency on my face
Thinking of all the repeats which haunt life
Breath and blinks in unison
The blood pumps constant grind
sun and moon propaganda
of time
wind traces its fingertips over lips
Final death never to be repeated
I cannot deny my “yellowness”
Its golden edge slicing the sunshine
Causing the sunflowers to sulk
Although they claim residency
While I just blew into town
Nearby Jonquils aren’t impressed
Yet lean to take a look
I revel in my “yellowness”
Rest gently against the breeze
Beckoning the honey bees
They will tickle me tenderly
Gathering my essence
Promising my “yellowness” is safe
Just catching a fresh wind to another town
Mothering
A small piece that builds up a past
Past residency that creates anger and vexation
True example of free independence and love
Belonging to genuine DNA to distant relatives
Caring for a companion, words, and faith
Desperate for a better tomorrow because the fear of no more days
No heir to take up empty places
Just wanting to see a self portrait of an ideal person
Stuck in a world of full of spring poppies
