Growing Up

It would be a pleasantry if I stayed a child since-
Growing up is something beautiful however.
Goodbye to the youngster within
I look forward to accommodate him now that he’s older.

Premium Member Gratitude

Thank
you, God,
for people
other than our
family, who when
we meet, will greet us with
a pleasantry, and for those
few who give us love regardless
of our foibles. For each dear friend on
whom I can depend, I give gratitude.

For Deb's contest: give thanks

A Kiss

Puckered lips
 gentle peck upon the cheek
 a red dress so sheik,
lean in close
 whisper softly in my ear
 hold back the pleasantry,
hug me tight
 in sensual delight
 it's me and you baby,
kiss me once, kiss me twice
 oh, now that's very nice
the kiss to build a dream on.

The Pleasantry

Your love like a pallet of colors
Fills beauty in spaces left empty
My stream of life, at all its levels
Humbles back it's start, the pleasantry

Your love like wind to sailors
Flutters along the impending victory
My bowl of life, with all its flavours
Savours each moment, the pleasantry !!!

Premium Member The Strange

Strawberry pie and school girl scribbles,
pleasantry lingers with that poised drawl.
Tea on the side of polite conversation,
baby that mask isn’t who she is at all.

It transforms based on your energy,
bit by bit the least visible lines change.
Admit that you too have hidden horns
two-bit words cannot hide the strange.

Calendar Notes

It’s nice to fill the calendar
With plans for lots of dates,
Assuming that on most of them
Some pleasantry awaits.

A day with friends, a dinner out,
A trip to someplace new;
Some tickets to a sports event,
A concert or revue.

A little note reminds me
Soon there’ll be a fun event
And anticipation is enough
To make me feel content.

Sprinkling Love

Have a day that's full of cheer
I'm sending love to show I care
Pass it on to someone else
Dont keep it all to yourself
Spread some happiness around
Through the lands and through the towns
Don't be stingy let's others see
By using some pleasantry
You can show how to release
Lots of kindness care and peace
I challenge you to take this dare
Sprinkling joyness everywhere

Premium Member verdant green queen

the desert was begging for a bit of green
underneath the earth was a verdant queen
she represented oaks, elms, maples and willows
she appeared on a Saturday, her hair in billows

The rest of the desert recognized her as royalty
They were gob-smacked by her beauty and pleasantry
She brought to the desert an oasis of greenery.
This livened up this dry spot, it seemed to me.

Premium Member My Sweet September

Oh, my sweet September, I have loved you all my days.
Please allow me to count just a few of the ways.

Each time you arrive at the Crack of Autumn,
I am arrested and feel like I belong. And the
sound of your three syllable name echoes
like a romantic song.

I come alive to the pleasantry of your presence.
And your 30 day abode initiates the season
With your captivating and divine fragrance.

Premium Member Shades of Stillness

How still is our stillness amidst wave forms,
memory triggering faint imagery
brewing consciousness limiting thought storms,
interfering with joyous pleasantry,
blocking divine bestowed serenity?
Dynamic stillness, nestled in silence,
present in love energised ambience,
simply is, as it is, with bliss replete,
flowing in the current, with nonchalance,
throbbing with ecstasy, feeling complete.

Willow

A tribute to Joyce Kilmer I sit under this willow tree. Its pendulous branchlets swaying In concinnity around me, spontaneously bestirring a soliloquized pleasantry: No measured words and rhymes I write Could ever describe your beauty Because fools never get it right and” Poems are made by fools like me” imperfect, conventional lines. “But only God can make a tree” creation of perfect design. So I write down beneath this tree these feeble lines of poetry.
