Flaws and Virtues of Stardust

Coded in your genes
Generations of stardust,
Their flaws and virtues
Vying to influence you,
Pick and choose which ones you'll keep

Pick and Choose

heart's matter
                                             bulb lights with current
                                                   pick and choose

In the kitchen i am..
I mixed and make..
Then Cooking pancakes.
Come, try and take..

Tastes, cream and sweet..
Making you fingers drum in beats..
Made by tender hands fit..
Humming in tweet and wit...

Paired with coffee or juice..

Twinkling eyes in pose..

Ultimatum

Ultimatum

Unwise or cool chances we take
Life is choices that we make
Time gets hard and time gets cold
Innocence is never old
Maybe it's just hard to see
After all it's you it's me
Teaching how to pick and choose
Influence for those filling shoes
Ultimatum makes you think
Makes you want to float or sink

Death Will Win

You can run as fast as you can,
But when death is knocking at your door,
You can't hide,
If it's your time,
Death will take you by the hand,
And lead you off to your next life,
You may go up an above us all,
Or be dragged into the ground till you reach the pit of hell,
It's your life,
Pick and choose now,
Before you taken,
and no not where your going.

Pumpkins smile with glowing light
Guiding the path, through the night
By alleys with swooping bats in flight
Witches cackling, bad apples to bite
Under cobwebs hanging on tight
Ghosts lurking in shadows to fright
Pick and choose your Halloween sight
Prickling fear or sweets in all bright

Praise For the Pen

It was done
I had once again put pen to paper.
A line had come!

An un bid swell
Like a sea current in a well.
Built, poured into and drawn from
It had come, it had come.

Not the best but a relief
Now i could ink out a life, a grief,
Make a friend
Then bring them to an end.

With a pen to pick and choose
Win over your loss, not give a toss
Hold them close again
With just your pen.

Premium Member Before They Speak

Some people speak and do not know the situation they are speaking about
Giving an opinion with their own words that sear the heart like a sharp knife
Forcing someone to pick and choose who is safe to talk to, who it is to know,
Wondering who can be trusted in this world where everyone has different backgrounds?
Everyone with something to say, but some don’t know the truth before they speak

The Gift

Some people have the gift,
they can read you like a book,
if you are kind hearted,
or just an old coot.
Animals have this gift,
they pick, and choose,
some stay with you,
while others fly the coop.
You don't pick the pet,
they sorta pick you,
try walking up to one,
and see what they will do.
Some want to love you,
they will follow you everywhere,
and others keep their distance,
to touch them, don't dare.

Philosophy 101

In life, we get to pick and choose
And live with each decision.
There’s more to it than win or lose
For what we might envision

Most often won’t exactly match
Reality’s rendition
And even if we start from scratch
To bring it to fruition

Another road may take us where
We’d never planned to travel;
Despite some welcome plusses there,
Our souls may still unravel.

Therefore to this lesson heed:
Wanting gets usurped by need.

Premium Member THANKFUL FOR HISTORY

Today I’m thankful for history…
Understanding the history of what makes us great should be taught
as well as the history that does not

For that is the job of history…
what history intends for us to do…
To learn not only from our successes…
but from our failures and atrocities…too

When we erase or alter history
When the true facts we dispel….
When we pick and choose what we want to teach
We make history an atrocity as well.

A Weapon Called Love

when stretched and twisted
love becomes a weapon
an impulse never resisted
primal urge unforgotten
    that is the excuse
    for devious behavior
    for letting dark passions loose
while claiming to be a savior
the pick and choose
of absurd distortions
no one wants to lose
their abominable corruptions
    but condemnation is never quiet
    and deceptions never subside
the soul is always in debt
in whom can evil love confide?

The Art of a Despot

My heart is a despot
I'm desperate
Forgive me, Lord, for I have fallen

My heart, it spins
Their mind sins
Turning from my better judgement
[To evil's chagrin]

Her venom still spews
My mind loves dissent, and follows, in her shoes
I fall backwards into this darkness once more

There much to lose
Why pick-and-choose?
I'll lose my morals by night-fall

I live in dread
We're better off dead--
I'll live this frivilous lie, again, instead...

Premium Member Another Story

Words in new dash
Ooze story flash

Oomph speaks to trace
Notes in this place

Glimpses move thought
Work random lot

Piecemeal this dance
Tale in brief trance

In this odd draft
Style moves word craft

Pick and choose lines
Feel message mine

Micro tale moves
Splurge of stray grooves

Ideas hurl flow
Stretch, blend and grow

Visual thoughts stream
Sensuous craft dreams

R E M Remember

she has sent
me so many
photographs

some i see
to cry others
i want to laugh

but she sent me
one hundred but
truly three times that

when i want a look
i don't pick and choose
i spin them as a rolodex

i never know what
the heck to expect
i open them then

review

but the most i've
found perhaps
profound

those photos
oh so relaxed
and readying

to sleep
i hold
dear

to my heart
and keep
my own

she seems
eyes closed
tight and always
