Tethered Wings

Fear presses, cold steel
Constricting thought, killing love.
Freedom paralysed.
A swallow with tethered wings
Longing for the Sky

Sequence-A Poet's Lament

A
crackle
of dead wood-
an unfinished
book,
as
driftwood
on the strand,
beginnings no
end-
in
timeless
tedium
of paralysed
thought

To Eric Whitney

***
Euthanised all.
Whole.
Paralysed .
Things that don’t concern you,
I will throw.

It’s you
I want to afford .
Wish clever nape
To my fingers to grant .

Sleep

A moment
Taken
Paralysed
Yet I dream of many worlds!

Adventure
Terror
Thrills
Almost as if its Real?

Cocoon
Peace
Rest
Waken totally Refreshed!

Where does that curling inevitable moment take you? X

The Encounter

overwhelmed
    by new
      impressions
a flood
     of chaos
unbearable
bombardment
     of the
             soul
paralysed
by doubt
   anxiety
   to the fore
delicate
sensitive
      emotion
      in
         the
             raw

Can We Ever Be the Same?

the river bank calm
and the augmenting silence
between us.
minds enveloped in scepticism,
actions tied with strictures.
“Can we ever be the same?”,
she asked.
her eyes nostalgic.
time paralysed.
i could say nothing
but shed a tear.

Nightmare

Endless nightmares I see
Falling down with gravity
Paralysed so I can’t move
I am bombarded with what I won’t choose

Restlessly I struggle to wake
Crying out to avoid my fate
Now awake my heart is racing
Will my sleep be now forsaken.

Fool

One word after another type paralysed;
With his words my heart he prized.
Broken with dazed disbelief,
From this bandit, standard thief.
How can one begin to foster-
A condescending crock, imposter?
In the beginning he was never cruel,
Now the end I'm such a dunce.

A Charming Affair

sir i must declare
    she whispers desires he stares
      her tongue flicks tips twitch
       paralysed sheets now arise
            lancelot duly obliged

Forgiveness

Her scent permeated the air
Wafting through his nostrils
His motions paralysed
Let the waters flow under the bridge
His mind proposed
Its easy to err and divine to forgive
He embraced her once more
Planted a kiss on her forehead
Only a memory he was playing with
Hoping her soul to redeem.

The Fear Is Back

The fear is back
The fear is back
Paralysed can't move
For the fear is back
I cry outward
Cannot be heard
I cry inward
I hear all to clear
I am taken by the fear
Takes all my strength
Takes all my will
Doctor says take another pill
The fear is back
The fear is back
Paralysed can't move
For the fear is back

The Crystal Slipper Was Huge

The crystal slipper was huge, enormous size,
Seeing the shoe, the prince felt paralysed.
He cried out: - To marry on her I have not any guts,
What have you done Perrault, I see you are nuts?

Prince jumped on a horse, so frightened and pale,
He galloped away for better or worse- to more suitable tale.

Tommy Run

How the hell did I end up here?
Under enemy fire and paralysed by fear
I remember the day our factory closed
And the fatcat owner escaped in his Rolls
Now I'm the one sweating in an armoured tank
Chased by an enemy without uniform and rank
Is this really worth my 16 grand a year?
How I long to get out of here

Yankee Spelling

Having no colour honour or even humour
such a shame on you
liking glamour honour and favour just for weddings
and there the colourist painters
anaemic thoughts let us not be paralysed by our difference
like in the aeroplanes above
we do both now travel
and dream of the Broadway theatres

(lettuce keep our connexion)

Veil of Despair

death does not comes to me
Even when I pray for it
I'm coward
My body freezed and hands paralysed
In the inside,
my life is torturous and tormenting
On the outside,
I believe there exist a better place for me
I'm stuck between death and life, my view blurry
My soul dead, head full of Death wishes
Is it called living?

Fragmented

Fragmented

By Nathan Hannen

In this gentle dream I glide through sleepy air
On through what is right and the devils lair

With no realization of time as a constant amount
The idea of reasoning, Paramount
Paralysed by the inability to see straight through black
Beautifully protected though in visions of attack
I wake

The End.

Dream

Paralysed by my surroundings
Enduring the visions you hold
Deep paths burned in all corners
My brain is a multi track mind
Anxious in sleep, beating fast
Thoughts all eratic and twisted
No sense a numbness no flight
My body wrapped in your web
Struggling to escape this fight
My body overheated and sweaty
Suddenly awake - such a fright!

Love, version 1: reflections on personal experiences of love, inspired by reading bell hooks

Wounded by its lack
Distrustful of it
Inured to its absence
In thrall to its allure
Fooled by its simulacrum
Estranged from it
Paralysed by fear of losing it
Inexorably exposed to it
Resolved against it
Consumed by longing for it
A scholar to its foreign texts
A slave to its compulsions
Compelled to search for it
Forever
Hopeful

Departure

you are a loss i will forever mourn even in my sleep
paralysed by the ghost of you that haunts me in dreams
i gave you my heart till you bleed it out
forced me to say words i never once believed

they say people are always blinded by the truth
"forever lost" is truly the lost case
i was here bleeding at the shore
when you departed to another sea

The Sexual Smile

OThe sexual smile the birth and death of kings,

The Plathian axe, the tree, and how it ringd

The horse unsaddled throws its mistress off

The ending of a life, the voice that scoffs.

Even the ugliest man can tell good lies

How a woman’s beauty hurt men’s eyes.

The sexual smile the enemy, the child

The hint of promise paralysed his smile

The Longest Day

The long narrow hallway,
Etched with pain and euphoria,
A mother’s sacrifice and the husband’s touch,
A parade of white.

The time is concentrated,
Flowing through me like a river,
Wild and roaring
And I stuck - a paralysed effigy on the shore.

On the pricipice of darkness
I sat, shivering to burst,
Refusing to remember,
What is to be lost.

Head Space

Paralysed with fear I awoke
surrounded by vampires feasting
Diabolical, my eyes provoke
Normality is decreasing
Now an alien abduction
Whisking me aboard a spacecraft
Blood pulsating introduction
Halloween alcoholic draught
Cautionary trickery dawns
Reality hangover yawns

Will You Marry Me

I asked for your love
Your answer turned into a spear
and pierced my heart
and wounded my heart
Paralysed now are my emotions
which once wandered freely
with my dreams
to enter your territory with love songs
your "no" to my plea was okay with me
It was a firm foundation
on which to build my hope
So soul-sickening
you said further
"I can never love you"
