Some say this pie is criminal,
mozzarella drenched with pineapple;
Pizza to devour or throw
euphoric or a waste of dough;
Two palates, one robust battle....

Bees are fragile but remarkable insects;
too painful are their stings
and they buzz constantly,
'though they make sweet honey...
oh, these small insects delight our palates!...

Christmas Homily
C oronation of lights
H eralding holiday rites
R inging bells guests invite
I llumined halls festivities incite
S ongs of carolers enliven dark night
T ales of Christmas ghosts by candlelight
M aterial aspirations pocketbooks slight
A ltruistic gestures to those with poorer plight
S piced nog, decorative cookies palates delight...

Water Cycle
Do spring the parched dust
of palates unhinged in thirst
waiting for cracked clouds
and marbled eyes
Do watch the grey light
shafting skin of sky and rain
sitting on the edge
to nip surprise
Do lift the white moon
on silver strings to star beat
floating on dew drops
and water beads
Do calm the ocean
a swelling wave impatient
waiting for cracked clouds
to cycle forth......

Together We Will
Forever we will run a castle.
We'll live our dreams and live happily ever after.
Together we will stay engaged for eternity.
You'll never break my heart cause your words are infirmity.
Forever we will rule a palace, You'll be my queen
and I'll be your prince of palates.
You will always be my highness,
You are my love of glory
and you will always be the ending of my happy story....

Premium Member One Pound Fifty
sun tanned unevenly, foxed
grimy fingers caress bruising
pounded by day's narration
churlish in onyx, was its hint
over feathered combs, see,
of flicked, creased pages
buried, stained words
were never read
while cold rooms grow colder
an author's sweat for nothing
stemmed the reader's keen
though skimmed at best
and your dilated pupils
captured out-of-breath palates
so I travelled second hand
yesterday, for just over a quid...

Premium Member Christmas Memory
Cardboard boxes, full of surprises;
celebratory treasures rest,
beneath the evergreen branches;
bold stacks of color.

Bellies smiling, hiding
delectable, culinary delights.
My heart swells with joy,
while our palates dance a waltz.
Emotion rides on clouds of serotonin.

Christmas builds
another miraculous memory
and the old year, ends with elation.
My taste buds are sent sailing on a warm sea,
of cocoa and cinnamon spice.

Premium Member The Lowly Turnip
The lowly turnip
Earthy, fleshy
Roots falling from its eyes
Fed to  livestock
One of God’s root crops
Yet deemed  untasty
By most palates

Carrots and potatoes
Receive accolades
Carrots in orange party dress
So crunchy and sweet
Fit in the school child’s lunch box
Potatoes in russet  brown
Mashed, fried and frittered
Prized alongside McDonalds and Kentucky Fried

Do not despair, my friend,
Not all root crops
Are valued similarly
Said the rutabaga disparagingly...
