One Pair
Our two dogs are named Dora and Hallie

They have become very much part of our family

Many times they sleep side by side on our ottoman

Best of friends, asleep together they look as if one...

Epistle Xviii - Pashmina
Lust is the
ladylike curve
of the Ottoman kilij
that kisses
the jugular vein
of the pagan wanderer,
as he slumbers underneath
the Esfahani opulence of
temptation’s velveteen
Pashmina fleece...

John had a favorite reading chair
near the corner of the room
angled towards the fireplace
with a tall lamp light
set at just the right height
padded with his wife's
embroidered cushions by his side
and a custom-made ottoman under his feet
John sat there looking happy and complete....

Mountain Fountain
Up the mountain
The forest hides a fountain
Escape the summer madness,
In cool shade

Ice cold water
Glides through my fingers
Senses awake
A gushing melody Under Ottoman shapes

There's light on the surface
Even oppressors
Leave relics to impress us
This oasis of calmness sedates...

Hang up your hat. Recline on the sofa and drape your legs

Over the ottoman. I don't mind one iota. You're the guest of the hour

Make yourself comfy. We'll laugh over drinks! Stay awhile, if not more

Enjoy the creature comforts. And please, feel free to drop by anytime

Day At the Flea Market
anxiety,
big brown bag
cash, cash, cash
daybreak
earlybirds, eager, enter
forward, follow
gorgeous
hats
igloo icechests
junk, junk
kettles
lamps, lanterns, luminous lights
moving men making money
nice
old ottoman
purchase, purses, please
questions, quick
reasonable red robe
still sealed salad shooter, spend, spend, spend
trimmers, trees, thousands treasures
unopened umbrellas
video viewers
with warranty
x-mas,
yellow yarn, YAWN!
ZERO........

100 Years After the Beersheba Charge
Did you hear about the charge
On that faithful day

At 4 o’clock in the afternoon
It was the desert you see

And water was like gold
When the Australian Light Horse

Charged Beersheba that day
Chauvel lined them up

And with bayonets in hand
They charged the Turk trenches down

They won the wells for a long cool drink
Breaking the Ottoman Empire

To start the march to Israeli independence
And a place in the world history’s page.
