Forty

Forty Lords a'leaping,
Forty bugs a'creeping
Forty forty year-olds,
With forty sad life tales.
Forty forty forty year-olds,
With their forty ales.

Leap

Two year olds leap
before they look
DADDY!
replaces gravity
then writhe laughing
from your arms
AGAIN!
I’ll always catch you
for these moments
pass too soon.

No Place To Go

She sat among the branches of a tree,
A lonely girl who wanted most to leave.
But eight-year olds have nowhere else to go,
So a weeping tree became her secret friend.

Ninety-Year-Olds Privilege

Untold laughter shaking her loudly
Diabolical and ruthless
Ninety-year-old’s privilege
Fooling almost no one
Delighting her cat
Smirking with mirth
Partner in
Friendship
Crime

Never Hit a Potamus

Never Hit a Potamus

Never hit a Potamus,
on his grey brown nose.
Cos' if you do, he'll flatten you,
by jumping on your toes.

Away With Olds

Away with weeping
Away with goofs
Away with drags
Away with fret
Away with former self
Away with former ways
Away with former sins
Away with former works
Away with former deeds
Way gone

Life

Girls take it serious
Boys goof around, they act like 2-year olds
Stomp all around, laughing things that aren’t that funny,
Not taking life seriously
They laugh and poke fun not knowing
How they will soon be.

Forget Age and Experience

Mental prowess has zip to do with age or experience
Some people’s buckets are cups.
Their dendrite strains are much shorter than others.
I have met six-year-olds who are wizards.
Being raised by a teaspoon for brain.

Tug of War

Tug of War
the three and four-year-olds had a terrific time
playing tug of war with a rope
all of them trying to help their friends
pulling a variety of directions
no matter what team they were on
hilarious to watch

Stick Figures in Front of Oldsmobile

Skinny kids
Wrinkled clothes
Crooked windows
Non-symmetrical
Snowman slightly off center
The “Olds”
Wrinkled fenders
A round-headed driver
A teetering toboggan
Hanging from its roof

The artists
Sipping hot cocoa

Fourteen

Fourteen-year-olds
Always
Ask questions

Fourteen-year-olds
Always
Try to understand others' lives

Fourteen-year-olds always
Ask
The wrong people

Fourteen-year-olds already
Have forgotten
The important things in life

Four Year Olds Need their Nap Routine

Insanely bad mood
Snippy and snarling
He is four-years-old
Fighting his nap time
Baby sitter folds

He falls asleep
at six o’clock
when parents come
to take him home

grouchy boy
cannot eat
wants his bed

routine
broken

sad

House

(H)olds memories, is a safe place, and could be an
(O)asis on earth when it’s filled with much love,
(U)nderstanding , and respect for one another
(S)o one can go out and spread love and joy to

Grocer's Store

A journey to the past,
For a weekly shop to last,
The grocer knew everyone,
When the baby boomers had begun,
We might get some biscuits broken,
Or an ice block, as a token,
Our olds did it on 2 quid per week,
Better times than this, they did seek.

Memories

A place of peace and quiet land
We grew together and made so much fun
In every minute under the sky
We played as if tomorrow never comes.

I wish the time stood still that day
Before you leave and moved away
My childish heart that never olds
A part of you I forever will hold.

Word Morph - Fave To Goes

Time and again what you write is my FAVE
They stay in my memory and never FADE
You don’t know the difference your words have MADE
You always choose just the right MODE
Whether its one of the olds or one of the MODS
Your writing is truly a gift from the GODS
Into my favourites another one GOES

Two Year Olds

There is nothing like two year olds
They are like robots, only repeating what they are told
we are often in awe of some of their sayings
some of their words stop us from turning pages
they jump, play and just run wild
we look at them with wonder and smile
they came from us, but we ask whose child?

Peculiar Petunia

Peculiar Petunia was very strange indeed,
I mean how many six-year-olds would choose to wear tweed?
On the first day of school, in an effort to impress,
Petunia chose a hand-woven olive green dress,
The other little girls wore lace in pink and red,
But Petunia knew the value of a harder-wearing thread

Night Stars

Night

Glittering
Holds me, oh so...
Tight

Still
This night
Arresting
Resplendent, the...

Whats the Noise of Breath Escaping

Tuned myself to a beat
only i heard
leaving reality
entered the absurd
looking at the mirror from the other side
Dying in the awk ward
the obvious scene
was obscene
Painting depRavED and DistuRbED
to be read
Swapping that for this
How olds the rain
Wheres the wind going
Digging in the Earths earth
hoping for some worth

Limerick: Once a Great Doubter Climbed Jack's Bean Stalk

Limerick : Once a Great Doubter climbed Jack’s Bean Stalk

for the raped 5-year-old Indian girl next door

Once a Great Doubter climbed Jack’s Bean Stalk
Cried : « For what Crime 5-year-old was debauched ? »
He got no true hearing
Slid down no more doubting
Now stalks 4-year-olds on dark side-walk.
