Premium Member As the Worm Turns
There once was vampire named Vlad.
His life was obscurely sad.
He ate a worm,
The tide did turn.
Now Vlad is famously bad.

Long Live the Sky
free verse

Long live the sky!
Invisibly
Invincible
against solar radiation
the earth’s atmosphere
Long live the sky!

Long live the sky!
Obscurely
Oblivious
protection for
earth’s inhabitants
Long live the sky!

Premium Member Ever Illusive Beam
Some people write of
things they know...
feeling more daring,
I prefer to explore:
start with a glimpse,
or chase a shadow,
a sliver of light
from a strange door
left ajar, on a path

imprinting pages
with a glint and a
gleam – in pursuit
of some ever
illusive beam.......

MASKED BALL – THE QUESTION

Maddening the music
In exotic minor key
Those ornate, blinding masks
That cherished memory

Scented the ambiance
Obscurely lit the hall
Rococo baroque and splendid
In period costume all

Which of them my goddess
My lady Persephony
All appear enchanting
Which enchantress she?

Will she our tryst remember
That October night’s repose
The special autumn’s moonlight
The wine, the red, red rose?...

Reverie
I’m afraid I can’t see
Past the blindness in me
It covers the hurt most obscurely

Matters not if I try
My sub conscience is sly
And it continues my journey so wry.

If I followed this mind
It would hope to find
Another so great and benign.

But soon I shall see
That the narrative in me
Has thee lost within its own sea.

An ocean of knowledge in kind
Has left me so far behind
So normal thoughts no longer spring to mind.

Missing Morning
Summoned obscurely by the orange, tinny glare
the sun-struck promised afternoon an amulet to wear
With wild indignation we unrolled our weary lids
as we stretched and writhed our way beyond the fringes of our beds.
We passed by coffee temptings and we headed straight to lunch
With crinkled hair, no savoire fare, we kept our back bones staunch
There's always a pit in the stomach when you break out of bed at noon
The infernal plight of the night owl - the morning comes too soon......
